Hi all, am wondering if anyone has used the FL Tours transportation company -we are doing Land/sea and will be using them for Airport, Hotel, Port, Airport...

I know i have heard good things about Happy Limo but they are about $60.00 more... am wondering if I will regret going with the budget decision.....

Thanks, Laura

Sorry to piggyback on your question, but didn't want to start an entirely new thread for mine...

Does anyone know if FL Tours will give you the 1/2 hour grocery store run if you only use them for one way?

Thanks!

Hi Laura,
I have them booked for our airport to port cruise in May. I chose them because they were the same rate as Happy Limo, and they offer free 30 min. grocery stop and free booster seat.

The one thing I did notice is that they don't accept credit cards; you have to pay for your ride in travelers check or cash when you get picked up. I THINK most of the others you can charge your reservation in advance with a cc.

I have heard a good thing or two about them on another board.

We used FL Tours in October. They were wonderful! After the cruise, two of us were staying an extra couple days while two of us were heading home. They were very helpful and made the whole process so easy. I would recommend using them!

Jenn, I e-mailed them a few months back to ask that very question. The reply (extremely prompt one, I'd add) was that although it isn't guaranteed on a one-way reservation as it is on a round trip, if the driver's schedule allows for it they are willing to make a quick stop. I think we will be trying to do that, and we'll have our list in hand, with assignments for each member of the group!

I used them to get from the airport Hyatt to the port on this last cruise, they were waiting for us when they said the would be. The driver was polite and friendly and the vehicle was immaculate!

I used FLTours for our recent trip to WDW and I plan on using them again for all legs of our trip in 2005 (WDW/cruise). I have NO idea why the other companies charge more- I certainly don't see it as them being a "budget" company in terms of service though- not at all! They just have reasonable prices with good service... they can't help it that other companies are out to gouge customers with high prices. :)

Ps. check out the transportation forum on this board. I think FLTours is the transportation that is advertised on this board- that's a pretty big recommendation from the DISboard... :)

We used FL Tours for our trip also! They were fabulous! (Our trip was in October 2003)

They were on time for all 3 parts of our trip (MCO to port, port to the Swan, and Swan to MCO). We did a grocery stop as well.

Since so many DIS'ers had excellent experiences with FL Tours, the payment terms (all up front - cash or travellers checks) didn't even bother me.

Each time, the vehicle was clean, and the driver was prompt and friendly.

We used FL Tours on our recent visit to DW. We booked them through DU for a price of $90 (RT - MCO - WL). Our plane arrived on time but there was nobody to meet us at baggage pickup. I called FL Tours via their 1-800 number from my cell phone and got a recording (very discerning) to which I left my name and number. It 3 or 4 minutes I had a call and the caller asked if I had seen my driver. When I said no, he said look up and see if you see someone running towards you with a sign with you name on it. I did and I did. The young man apologized for 15 minutes while he pulled our luggage to the curb. He said he was looking for a large crowd of people. Why? I do not know. There was just two of us and we arrived on a 35 passenger plane. We had to wait at the curb for 10 minutes or so while he went to get the car but from then on the trip was wonderful. He offered to stop at a store for us which we declined and then talked to us the entire trip telling us about Christmas in Brazil and his experiences in the US where he is attending college. His name was Marco and his middle name was, are you ready for this, Polo. He said that for the first year in the States he thought everyone at the swimming pool knew him until he found out about the kids game "Marco Polo".
When we arrived at the WL he opened our doors, got our luggage and then gave me a bill for $100. I told him that I had reserved the car for $90 and gave hime a $100 bill for the trip and tip. I told him to have his boss call me at WL if there were any question but nobody ever did.
On the night before we were to come home we received a call from FL Tours confirming our pickup the next day. The pickup was made on time by a very courteous older gentleman who was as quiet as Marco was talkative.
The cars we rode in were immaculate and had a fresh scent to them like they had just been cleaned.
Even with the mishaps we were impressed. We will use FL Tours on our next trip.
Help this helps,
Russ and Miss Vivian
