We'll be staying on-site for 8 days in Sept. Thinking about renting a car. Cheap rates on Orbits with Americar.

Have any of you used Americar? Good or bad?

Thanks All

I came to ask the same thing! :)

I got a cheap rate quoted, too (around $27/day for the weekly rate). I've never heard of them and am a little wary. I'm going in Sept.

I hope we get some feedback...

Okay, Shelby, I searched this forum for Americar and the results were not good! Several BAD reviews. I think I'll wait for a good code from Hertz. :)

Americar and Payless operate out of the same office which looks like a single agency having franchises to both. I have used Payless several times with excellent service. I have not used Americar.

I would not rule out the possibility that the same employees rent the cars from the same fleet and have two rulebooks behind the counter, one for Payless customers and one for Americar customers.

Thank you both.

Still not sure what I'm gonna do. Been checking around - even with the codes - and still nothing I want to pay.
Payless was even cheaper that Americar on Orbitz. Heard alot of bad stuff about them, but now Seashore, you have good stuff to say about them. I'm so confused!

Was also thinking of trying priceline and giving them a low $. What have I got to lose?

Anyone else?

Thanks again.

I tried Priceline a couple of days ago with my "low" bids and got no where.
You would be, IMHO, better off using one of Mary's codes and a coupon from BJs or Costco (if you are a member).

However, if you do manage a good bid on Priceline, please, let us all know about it. :)
