We are planning a trip at FW for one week, then we are heading out for a cruise. Passporter says $20/day and that there are lots of ants. Don't relish the idea of returning from a cruise to find an infestation of ants in our camper. Any suggestions about what we should do?

Not reading the book won't help with the ants. I was hoping someone might know of alternative places to park so that I could park somewhere else - if indeed there is a problem with ants or here from someone that the ant situation isn't true.

It would be awful to get back from a relaxing cruise and find ants into everything. The only plus here is that I know what climate they're going to be headed to - at least I'd get my revenge on the little buggers!:p

Don't know if this will help or not but some of the hotels near the port offer a shuttle to the port. You would have to stay a night but I have heard that some of the hotels are really nice. You could park your camper and take the shuttles. I haven't ever heard of any other parking options.

If you do park at the port, maybe put out ant traps in the camper before you leave for the cruise.

I think no matter where you park you might find ants. Just make sure to put all the food in sealed containers, wipe all your surfaces down put down some ant traps maybe spray your doorways and other openings with a ant repellent. Also make sure a dump your trash, soda cans are a big draw for ants.
We saw several campers in the lot so people do park there.
Have a great trip and let this be a small worry for you

Thanks for the info - good to know that there are campers parked there. Probably throw all the ant attracting food into the fridge for safe keeping too. Ant traps are added to my list....

If you are traveling through the Orlando area first, you might want to check to see if you can put the camper in the Ft. Wilderness front lot and then drive with the tow vehicle over to the port. I've seen RV's in their lot before.

Just a thought.

If we weren't so rushed to get home after the cruise, we probably would do just that. How far a drive is it to WDW from the terminal? We are headed back to NH right when we get off the boat.

That's not so bad... it would be nicer to leave the camper at FW. Will have to think on these different ideas. Thanks again everybody!
