We have OnStar on the vehicle we just purchased.

We received 30 free minutes of their personal calling service for free-obviously they want customers to buy more minutes.

One thing-it can't dial the number 2.

If I have to call my DH on his phone, I can't.

I say "2" and it thinks I'm saying "New" or any other number of things.

Anyone else have this problem? Doesn't it seem kind of rediculous that it can't recognize that number?

We do and I really like it. It sometimes has trouble hearing a number. What we did was program in all of the numbers we call most. And just keep on until you finally get it to hear the number. For some reason ours had trouble with eight. I am one of the few people who does not have a cell phone. So DH kept ours in our car in case I was out sometime and needed to call someone. So far we like it, but we bought our car in June. I increased the minutes, but I don't have a clue how much it will cost to renew the OnStar system itself. It is too high we probably won't keep it.

We had it for the trial period. They messed up my phone number, then in Orlando we couldn't call out. Why have it if it doesn't work where you need it. I also had trouble getting it to dial for me. We spent a couple of hours on the phone with them trying to get our service worked out. The guy I talked to was about the rudest you can imagine. Hey, I was going to buy their service... I will keep the lowest level service though. Hopefully it will work if we ever need it to.
