A few months ago, Enterprise offered a convertible rate of 99.00 per week. I was curious to see if anyone has actually rented yet and if there were any problems. Thanks!

I'm interested in this also, and would like to know how much luggage fits in the trunk of a convertible.

We have a Chrysler Sebring convertible and not much luggage will fit in the trunk. When we were looking for convertibles, the Sebring had the largest trunk and most comfortable and roomiest back seat. We can usually get a 24 inch suitcase and a carryon in the trunk along with some small tote bags.

Check with your insurance agent and check your credit card rules to see if you have rental collision coverage for a convertible. Otherwise you need to buy that coverage for the rental company, typically something like $15. per day.

We are ok with insurance. Our agent said the policy is the same for a rental as if we owned the car. I'm just curious to see if anyone else has been able to take advantage of this offer. I have a written confirmation, so hopefully we are set.

If I remember correctly the Enterprise rate did not go into effect for rental pickups until October 1st. It may have been available prior to that date for a day or two but I think most pickups were probably scheduled after 10/1 hence no response. You would probably have heard by now if they were not going to honor the rate or try to change your vehicle class.

Thanks, I'll try to post in October.

I rented the 99.00 car from 10/19-10/27. It was a flawless rental the staff at enterprize is great. We booked the rate then added a day. With the extra day and a tank of fuel(optional) it cost a total of 220. There is not much room at all in the trunk for checked luggage we put ours in the back seat. Our car had 13 miles on it. It was a Crysler Sebring.Hope that helps.

We have booked this deal too. There is myself, my husband and two daughters. Can you expand on "not too much room in the trunk"? We won't be able to put very much in the backseat, because the kids will be there.
I have another bigger car reserved that I was going to cancel, but was holding on until I figured out how much room there was going to be.

Thanks for your help.

If you ride from the airport with the top up witch we did at one point during our stay switching hotels. We were able to fit 2 larger (24" swiss gear bags) checked luggage the rolling mickey duffle and my wife's carry on which is about the same size as the duffle. There was still a little room left. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Our policy is the same too..except for 'specialty' cars such as convertibles, sports cars and 15 passenger vans. We found this out accidently when we were upgraded to a mustang. My credit card company happened to call me, because I had charges from all over the place on my card. While I had them on the phone, I mentioned they will have another charge from for our wonderful mustang, and she mentioned that they don't cover that insurance wise, and to check with our regular insurance, and I did, and YIKES! after we've had several of these rentals, we found out they didn't.
It was a surprise to me.

We had no problems at all. The Sebring trunk was very small and they offered us a great Volvo! It was an easy process and Enterprise was great. Hope this helps.

For people wondering about the insurance issue with renting a convertible, my insurance company stated it didn't matter what kind of car it was as long as the retail value did not exceed $100,000.

Of course, everyone has to check out their own policies.

Check with them, and your credit card, if you use them for the insurance. Neither of mine will cover specialty cars :(
