Anyone use Page Plus Wireless?

I currently have Verizon cell service, but would like a smartphone with a data plan. Verizon is just too pricey for us....and I am a minimal cell phone user. I just went into the Verizon store today...my DH and I share a 700 minute plan...no data...and then I have the $5 for 250 texts per month......turns out DH uses approx 150 min per month...while I use around 250.....so we are paying $85/month for 2 phones which we use on a minimal basis.

I would like to go with Page Plus since it uses the Verizon network. I do not care for the prices for the phones through Page Plus....so I was thinking of getting a used/referbished phone from somewhere else....but I am not very tech savvy...and do not want to have to "port" or convert anything......I was thinking about a Samsung Fascinate, but I do not want to spend much more than $100 for a phone.....

If anyone is a Page Plus user....can you recommend a phone/place to buy a phone/or any other info I should know about Page Plus? I would just get the $29.95/month plan....and see how that goes....I can always upgrade to the $39.95 plan, but I don't think I would really need unlimited calls/texts.

On another note....I would like to get the $12/month plan for DD10....not sure what phone to get her either. It would mainly be used for emergencies only.

I currently have a Verizon LG Cosmos....but I cannot figure out if that phone is supported by Page Plus (to give to DD to use).

I just activated a Cosmos last night with no problem. I went to pageplusdirect and they will activate for $6 and you get a $2 credit. I figured if it didn't work I was only out $6. I then set up an account on the page plus web site and bought the $12 a month pin code. It walks you through adding it to your account. good luck.

I am a former Verizon (pre-paid) customer that switched to PP. I felt the same as you, I wanted a smartphone but did not want to pay what Verizon was going to charge. I went with 'the 12' plan on PP and couldn't be happier. I use a Palm Pixi Plus phone, it was less than $50 when I purchased it. The screen and (real) keyboard are small so if you want/need something bigger I wouldn't recommend it. Also, its a basic smartphone, nothing too fancy but it works for me. Even though the 12 plan gives you a little data each month I did turn off on the phone and only use wi-fi, so I don't "leak" data and use up my allowance. I'll turn it on and use it only if I'm out and I need it.
I am getting my dd a smartphone to put on PP and have been looking at the htc incredible. You can find them for under $100 refurbished on ebay.
I get my refill cards at callingmart.com They usually have a 3% off discount code floating around, and every month or so they put out a 5% one. You also get "points" with every purchase.

If you want to keep your current number you do have to port it over, but you don't need to go through an independent dealer. You can call PagePlus and they will do it for free.

I was going to get the PP plan last month (but went with Virgin).

While looking up info on it I saw there were several PP dealers in the area.
I visited one of them and they had phones there plus they would start it for you.
