I think WDW offers inroom sitters. Anyone tried them? We are thinking about doing this so DH and I can run disney's race for the taste in October together. :flower3:

I'm trying to find out about in room sitters too! But I guess not too many peopole use them.
Were you ever able to get any info about this?

We use the Fairy Godmothers, and they are great. Here is information on the two services most widely used.

Search the boards for Fairy Godmothers and you will see a lot more.

"Kid's Nite Out" charges an hourly rate for one-on-one childcare and gives discounts for each child within the same family. Rates for one child are $13.50 per hour. Each additional child within the same family will be $2.00 extra. "Kid's Nite Out" also provides mother's/father's helpers, children's parties and conventions, and runs 4 children's camp programs in the Orlando area.

Visit Kid's Nite Out for more details.

I've used both more than once and I've been pleased w/both of them everytime!!!! The people that came where always on time and completely prepared for anything and everything. I've ordered pizza in room and I've had them go to the food court and arcades with them. Always very accomadating and my kids always seemed happy to have them and enjoyed the experience.

If I remember correctly Kids Nite Out is the one Disney will refer you to. Fairy Godmothers is another service that has been very popular as well.

Now I may be crazy but the one time I used Fairy Godmothers it was a man. I was given a choice and could have refused him but after lots of questions on my part I was ok with him coming. I have 2 boys and have used male sitters before. My boys seem to prefer a guy. The neat thing was this particular guy also worked for Disney as a character during the day. One of his character was goofy...He left a note from Goofy for my kiddos (after they were in bed) which they got a big kick out of.

Anyway, my point is I've used in room sitters (both of the referenced services) and have always been very pleased w/the service!!!

I was wondering experiances with in room sitter and tweens/young teens..do they even watch 12 yo???
My husband and I are still deciding whether or not to have an evening out..
I would never seperate DD12 and DS6 and even though DD12 babysits her brother at home I really don't feel combterable leaving them in the room alone:confused3

Thanks for resurrecting this thread!! I will definately look into the 2 companies mentioned. I will be going to DL in september to run the half marathon there and we are going to be using the babysitting company the Grand Californian recommends. So if all goes well with that then I will have a sitter in October at WDW as well.

Thanks again!
