Hi,

Was on the cruise critic board and came across a thread about Godfrey Tours on St. Thomas. He has gotten rave reviews there and I was thinking of using him. Anyone here have any experience with him?

He charges $20 per person and this is what is included (cut and paste from his email response):

We used his tour service in Sep 02. He quoted us 20.00 /person then and when it came time to pay, he did not charge us for our daughter who was 4.5 years old at that time. He picked us up at the port where the Magic berths. I was telling some people by the adult pool our plans and they wanted to no if they could tag along for the trip. We met the next morning and he gladly took us all on the tour. We told him we only needed 2 hours to shop so we could spend more time at the beach. He told us to pick the beach. Your family will have a great time on his tour. It was port ot port service. The scenic tour of St. Thomas was nice too.

Phyllis,

Thank you so much for responding. I don't ever recall seeing his name mentioned here on the Dis so its good to know somebody here has used him.

By any chance, do you remember if his vechicle had seatbelts?

Thanks again!

Mary

No seat belts on his vehicle. Is was an open air (hard top on top) vehicle that are all over the island.

Our family had the pleasure of hiring 'Godfrey Tours' and were very satisfied. Godfrey (or his brother Tony) are very flexible and let you personalize your tour. They have a choice of a scheduled 2-3 hr tour with others or you can hire for all day ~ an open safari bus or an AC van. We had 16 (babies were free) and chose an all day excursions in the van. He met us at the dock at 8:30 am.

We toured the island learning the history, went to mountain top for the beautiful view and pix, then the ladies and kids toured 'Coral World', adjacent to Caribbean Water Sports and Coki Beach, while the men went parasailing. Later we met next door for a fun day at Coki Beach for swimming, snorkeling, and a picnic we'd bought from the ship. It was a wonderful adventure making many special memories!

On the way back to the ship we had a shopping spree in town.
Were back at the ship 4pm ish.

You can also use the search feature at bottom of this page and get more reviews on Godfrey Tours. Sorry to say, not many taxis, etc. have seatbelts.

Happy cruising! :boat:

If you are a small group (there are only 4 of us and I don't know anyone else going) would you then be grouped with others? I would love to do the tour, Coki Beach and Coral World, but I am not at all interested in shopping. Does anyone know if there is any way to skip the shopping? Every review I've read mentions shopping.
