It is working for me. In the past month I havent even smoked 2 packs of real cigarettes.:thumbsup2

Never heard of this before. I would love for DH not to stink of cigarette smoke. Actually, I would love for him to quit, but this is a step at least.

I've read the entire thread, only to find out that now the govt has stepped in & shipments are delayed.

Great. :sad2:

I wonder if DH knows about this product.

:headache::headache::headache::headache::headache: NEWS

I recieved this email from Njoy, the government has stepped in, and 'detained most shipments".:sad2::sad2::sad2:

That is just wrong!! Njoy also has non nicotine cartridges, don't they? They were just talking about this on our local news. Gov just has to be in everything. arggg and DISUNC I am so glad it is helping you and the many others that are using them. I think I am ready to have DH go to Costco and see if they still have them. :)

I just wanted to update this thread as the FDA has been stopped from trying to ban e-cigs.

http://www.casaa.org/news/article.asp?articleID=79&l=a&p=

This past week of sub-zero windchills finally had me looking into the e-Cig alternative and I've been researching my little head off. I'm awaiting the arrival of my first starter kit and am SO I'm looking forward to when I can smoke at my desk again instead of having to stand outside in the wind, snow and ice!

I think if anyone brings up the FDA to me, I'm going to say, "Yeah, the FDA. Weren't they the ones who cleared Vioxx and Phen-Phen as safe?"

I'm SO GLAD to have done a search on DIS and found this older thread. Since it's been so long, how are things working for you guys? Were you able to quit the tobacco completely?

I wasn't considering doing the drip before but, thanks to Legalsea and DISUNC, I'm seriously thinking about liquid now.

THANK YOU GUYS SO SO MUCH!

Come April it will have been one year since I stopped smoking, all due to electronic cigarettes.

I now use '801' electronic cigarettes (the number refers to how long they are in millimeters). They give great 'vapor'.

A couple of links:

One, virtually all electronic cigarettes sold in the USA are made in China. For the past 8 months I have been purchasing from a Chinese company, called Heaven's Gifts. Very fast shipping (I usually get my order within a week). Much cheaper prices than buying from most USA companies.

http://www.heaven-gifts.com/

In addition to the 801 (which they sell) I also have been using the Joye Stick, which is a strange little device that uses an AAA size battery (although not quite the same size). Produces beautiful vapor, plus you use the 801 atomizers in it.

Be sure to buy 'blank' cartridges (for whatever type of e-cigarrette you buy), and then use your own juice. I buy most of my e-juice from Johnson Creek Smoke Juice

http://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/

My favorite is the Mint Chocolate. I recommend buying the 'sampler' (called "Welcome to e-smoking kit" for $39.99). You get 10 small bottles of different types of juice, plus other accessories. I get the 'medium' nicotine content (you can get no nicotin, low, medium or high).

Finally, a good website to simple read about electronic cigarrettes:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/

I also contribute to that board under legalsea. Look for the thread that has photos of the various types of e-cigarettes.

Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.

Folks, do your self esteem a favor, and go ahead and QUIT. It is hard as heck, but very doable!

You will feel so much better about yourself. Then, you will have more wind in your sails to tackle those other things in your life that you've been struggling with.

If you like using these electronic guys to get your fix, I'd hope that it is used just as a stepping stone to break your addiction.

When quitting, the first second of the first minute of the first hour of the first day is the hardest. The second hour is a little easier. The third is easier than that.

Day 2 is much easier than Day 1. So long as you stay away from smoke and smokers, and bars, and stress, you CAN handle it.

After a week, you may even be able to go into your favorite smoky bar and have a drink (but why risk it just yet?). After 2 weeks, you will notice that you have really stopped thinking about it for the most part! When you have a sudden thought of smoking, it really isn't an urge or anything... more of a "Oh, hey, that is where I used to stand and smoke. I wonder what time will dinner be ready? Did my team win the game? Dang, I forgot to return that DVD." =)

It is getting easier to quit, as there are fewer and fewer folks doing it in fewer and fewer places.

Please, people, do yourself, your family, and the world a favor, and give quitting a go!

By the way, cold turkey is the only way that seems to work with any real rate of success. http://www.becomeanex.org

I wonder if people who are 'allergic' to smoke react to these as well.

As one of those non-smokers who isn't allergic but is very annoyed by cigarette smoke, I love these new things. It's a win-win. I don't get annoyed and they get to "smoke."

Great going, all of you! My husband and I quit five years ago using the cold laser treatment. There is no craving and neither of us has slipped in all that time.Keep it up,it's hard, but can be done.It is truly something to be proud of.:woohoo:

I got to ask, what is the cold laser treatment?
I have tried for years to quit and I'll try anything now.

I wonder how Disunc is doing with this? I haven't seen him post in a while.

Congratulations, legalsea! I'll check out that board!

Thanks for the extra information, too! I've been looking at the 801s and didn't realize they used a regular battery instead of a tiny one. That has to come in handy! I'm going to email your last post to myself so I can keep it and refer back to it.

Once again, great job! I'm not sure that I'm ready to quit smoking altogether, but I can see myself eventually working my way down to the 0mg e-cig.

I'll check out you on the e-cigarette-forum. Thanks again!

I only smoke Bluecigs electronic cigarettes and love them! They actually helpted me stop smoking real cigs and for around 60 bucks definatly worth a try. Good luck quiting all!
