Anyone use Amazon.com??

I bought my Wii thru Amazon when it first came out. I have also bought books. Never had an problem, really.

When I ordered the Wii however, it was in demand and new so they cancelled my order. So, I kind of sat on their emails (they wanted me to cancel the order officially or something to that effect, I can't remember) and then they were able to ship me the Wii and gave me credit for my trouble.

I give them high marks for that.:thumbsup2

I use Amazon often. I've been a customer for years. I am also a Prime member. Recently we had our first issue with a product. Amazon sent me another one right out no charge no shipping charge before I even sent the original one back.

Excellent customer service!:thumbsup2

All the time. I've bought both new and used items through them (including books) and have never had an issue. Just make sure you're buying from a seller who's had at least a reasonable amount of positive feedback, just like ebay.

Seriously? Amazon is probably the best, most reliable retailer in the the U.S.

I frequently buy new books from amazon. I have also purchased camping equipment, fiestaware, knives, toys, stainless steel water bottles, even a bicycle. Never a problem.

I doubt you are, but if you're still questioning whether or not Amazon is legitimate, or if it lives up to its promises, I dug this article up that I'd read last year. It absolutely astounds me.

The online retailer said Friday that on its peak day, Dec. 15, it received more than 6.3 million orders, at a record pace of 72.9 items per second.

I love Amazon. No tax, free shipping? Doesn't even make sense to go to a store!

Just this week I found another reason to love them. I preordered the new Harry Potter movie for my DD. Between the time of my order and the time it shipped, the price went down. I received an email notifying me that my refund had been processed. I didn't even know the price had gone down. (And could hardly believe they could improve on a price already $10 less than Target!!!)

Love love love Amazon!

my most favorite place to shop!!

i bought my big screen tv which comes with their white glove service. Excellent delivery to home, opening with care and setting it up and making sure I am happy before leaving.

I bought guitar hero, so many movies, gazillion toys, dvds at bargain basement prices, so many books including text books. cannot beat their prices especially with no tax.

I love my prime. It is so worth it with amazon.

It truly is the best company with the best customer service.:hippie:

Thank you. :thumbsup2 I was just wondering since I have some money in paypal and i cannot transfer to my bank until next month.

I sell books on Amazon.com. If you need something by Christmas, I would buy the expedited shipping option. It's not much more than standard shipping and it will be sent by First Class Mail or Priority Mail depending on the weight of the item. Standard shipping is by Media Mail and can take up to 21 BUSINESS days to reach you. Spent the little extra so you know it will get to you.

I would also suggest that you look at the condition (I only buy Very Good or better), description of the item and the Feedback for the seller. Many sellers will over-inflate the condition or they just put the same non-descriptive "description" in for every item. Look for a seller who actually LOOKED at the book and took the 30-45 seconds to describe it.

I can usually get free shipping from Amazon and there's no sales tax. :thumbsup2

Just to be clear, sales tax IS charged in states where it has a physical presence OR where it's required b/c of the state (NY). And for those states they charge the tax of the state...so when we order, we pay over 9% tax b/c we're in WA.

The sellers, like any seller, have the ability to be sneaky. BUT they keep a firm hold on their sellers, and have lots of power over them (that was hubby's second to last job at amazon, supporting the sellers and seeing what can happen when a seller goes "bad"). You're not just in the wilderness like with ebay. And going through sellers can mean no sales tax, even for the states that have amazon in them, depending on where they are. :)

Gotta say, I'm loving hearing all the praise! Hubby and I met while working customer service there (he had just been made one of my Leads when we met), and he's been back two more times since then...currently doing product testing. Woo!

And yes, they are *extremely* busy. Yay!

I have bought books before both with amazon direct.. others with sellers of used books. usually great service.

although one jerk left ME a very bad negative feedback because I didn't leave HIM a glowing review feedback........ how is that fair.

took be forever to drop that black mark off my list.
FWIW, your "black mark" means NOTHING on Amazon and never did. Sellers cannot refuse to sell to you no matter how many "black marks" you have. In addition, I don't even think that buyer feedback even shows anymore. In short, it's not a big deal.

ok. got confused
this was with half dot com

for some reason the seller was able to make a negative feedback.

I've used it several times and always had great results. I just did so and the packages were here in just a couple days.
