Anyone use a Pulmicort inhaler?

The doctor gave me one a long time ago because when I get a cold I end up with the worst cough in the world. She wanted me to start using the inhaler as soon as I have cold symptoms in hopes of reducing or preventing the cough.

Unfortunately, I threw out the box that it came in. Duh! I can't remember if this is just a once a day thing or more often. My pharmacy is an independent place that is closed on Sundays. I looked at the Pulmicort website and didn't see anything.

I will just stick with using it once today and call the pharmacy tomorrow unless someone on here knows for sure if this is an every 4, 8, or 12 hour thing. Thanks!

Pulmicort is normally used to help prevent an asthma attack. Most people I know take it once a day, but they increase it to twice a day when they have breathing issues.

My 2 year old takes 2 puffs twice a day and when sick 3 times a day but he also has asthma.

My DS is 3 times a day while coughing, backed down to 2 times a day when considerably better, and when the cough is gone 1 time a day. This is nebulized

One puff two times a day year round. When wheezing, two puffs twice a day.

You should call your doctor to see what he/she prescribed for you. My ds takes 2 puffs a day both at the same time, but he could take 1 puff 2x a day, so its not really the amount of times a day that matter, its the dose.

Thanks everyone! I will do the one puff 2 x today and call the pharmacy tomorrow. I have never used it for this situation before. I did use it years ago for awhile but I was having daily problems at the time. This time, she just wanted me to use it at the first sign of a cold to hopefully prevent or reduce the cough. Since she prescribed it, I haven't had any cold symptoms so I haven't used it. Why I was stupid enough to take it out of the box and pitch the box is beyond me.
