Anyone upgraded MYW on Magic Band to AP?

So, I checked out Cheshire Figment's thread - Everything about WDW Tickets and noticed that Post #12 says:

If you attempt to upgrade a KTTW to any sort of Annual Pass it may mess up your reservation and dining plan, if any. If you are planning to upgrade to an AP you have two choices. One is to wait until your last day and you have checked out of the Resort and used all your Dining Credits. The other is to have someone at either the Resort Front Desk or the Lobby Concierge remove your tickets from the KTTW and put them on separate cards; you can then have these separate cards upgraded with no problem.

We have an onsite reservation coming up. Our Magic Bands will have our tickets, room key, etc. We'll make our FP+ reservations and our ADRs will be linked to our MDE. We are considering upgrading to APs this year when we get there. After reading this, I'm wondering if anyone has upgraded to an AP from a Magic Band and with the FP+ in place, and did it mess anything up? (Did you lose any of your FP+ or ADRs or anything?) Or should we just wait until our last day to do the upgrade? Thoughts?

I did this on Jan 19th. I had 7 days of FP'S scheduled and 6 ADRs remaining plus being on the DP when I upgraded. The CM put my AP on my MB but also gave me a regular AP card as backup. We used our MB for charging and door entry with no problem either.. It seemed it went seamlessly for us.

We did this in August. We were on the dining plan and had FP+ reservations on our MB's. We upgraded successfully, but just make sure the cm doing the upgrade understands your concerns and knows what they are doing. I'm sure there are many more experienced cm's upgrading these days, so you should be fine.

Yay! I was hoping we could do it at the beginning, as I would love to add the TiW card and take advantage of it while we're there. Thanks, kathie859 and Disneylover99! Now off to keep convincing DH that we really NEED to upgrade to APs so that we can go more often!

We did it in December and had the CM confirm all of our dining entitlements and fast passes prior to and after the upgrade to confirm that everything transferred over correctly and we experienced no problems.

We had no problems. We stayed at POR in October with Free Dining, and then we decided to upgrade to an AP. (Helpful hint I learned here on the Dis-- you can book with Free Dining and then upgrade to an AP before you enter the first park, and what you paid for the MYW tickets rolls into the cost of the AP PLUS you get to keep all your free dining reservations. It was awesome-- we saved over $1000 between two trips (one in October, one in January, both 8 days) by upgrading and using FD at the same time!!) We had no problems for the rest of the week-- every reservation was intact, and we were able to use the band to charge tips and even combined Free Dining with the TIW card on booze/apps and charged it all back to the room on the band.

Now off to keep convincing DH that we really NEED to upgrade to APs so that we can go more often!

Dangerous territory Our two trips have somehow turned into five scheduled trips, and the possibility of a cruise and a long weekend MNSSHP party.... I blame it entirely on the AP

I upgraded my daughter's ticket to an AP last night. I don't have any adr's scheduled but our FP+ is just fine today.

Thanks, everyone! I think I've got him convinced and even sold him on the TiW card! Woohoo! And it will definitely be dangerous...we already have another 2014 trip in the works for probably Oct for MNSSHP, which we haven't missed in 4 years. But with APs, I can see the possibility for maybe a solo trip, or just DH and I or just DD and I, okay, just more trips for me!
