Hello! I've just booked my cruise, but it's not for another 9 months :(

In the meantime..........I haven't told my husband or my son (5 1/2) where we are going!!! I just told my husband what days he needs to take off work. I'm going to drive us all to the airport and surprise them!

Here's the challenge. I'm going to be giving him clues over the next 9 months, but I want some doozies! 9 years ago I booked a cruise to Ensenada, and the only clue I gave him was "SALAD" (because the spanish word for salad is ....Ensalada) Cute, huh?

Anyway, the only clue I have given him so far is "Tom Hanks" (because he was in the film "CASTAWAY", get it?)

The more esoteric, the better. I'm going to present him with a scrapbook on the airplane with all of the clues, and what they mean.

This should keep me busy for the next 9 months, huh?

Thanks in advance for all of your input! Let the clue dropping begin!! :hyper:

Which cruise are you going on? Eastern or Western?

I would steer away from anything having to do with Disney such as character hints, unless they are really coming from left field.

Erin :D

How about a picture of Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman (as Jeannie and Tony) - they lived in Cocoa Beach and he worked at Cape Canaveral.

If you are on the 'Magic' - what about the clue "David Copperfield or Harry Houdini"? **Copperfield might work better (harder) since it's a book and a person.

If you are on the "Wonder" - a song by Stevie Wonder as a clue "You are the Sunshine of my Life".

Or for either, clue "Song by Styx" - Come Sail Away

You said obscure...

EXCELLENT!!

So far so good guys, those are great suggestions! I will be on the 4 day Wonder cruise (I love the idea of using a Stevie Wonder song)

Keep 'em coming guys!

Thanks!:Pinkbounc

How 'bout "Gorda,' as in 'Gorda Cay?' This might be too easy, as it is the original name of Castaway Cay & could be found on the internet...

Or you could use the first sailing dates of the Wonder (sorry I don't have that off the top of my head).

You could make Gorda a little more obscure by using Fat Island, since Gorda is Spanish for fat.

How about the clue "Maverick" or "Pete Mitchell".... as in the Top Gun character Tom CRUISE portrayed?? That might need to saved as one of the last cluses tho...

Oh my GOSH!! You guys totally rock! Those are such awesome clues, and totally what I'm looking for!

I could get him gorditas for dinner one night!!

This is so great! I was starting to fry my brain, and now I'm going to have so many great clues to choose from.....

Keep 'em coming!

I could say "I WONDER what your next clue will be?"

AAAHHHH, this is making me disssssney!

Ummmm. Okay, I give up. What does "Maverick or Pete Mitchell,... as in the Top Gun character Tom CRUISE portrayed" have to do with a DIS cruise?

Please ssssplain it to me.

Thanks.

1stNoel .... I thought and thought about that one too ... when I tell you you're going to GROAN!!!!!

Cruise as in Tom CRUISE

LOL ... great one

Oh, duh! That's a pretty good one, but all I think of when I hear "Top Gun" is that volleyball scene. :)

Ahhh... that scene...

Playing, playing with the boys!!

But we digress, must help ma2patrick....

Okay, how about this?

Jimmy Stewart

(huh, huh?....."It's a WONDERful Life"?)

Too obvious?:confused3

I still love the "I Dream of Jeannie" clue....maybe I'll make all of my clues about actors.....I could do Bill Daley

Smokey Robinson. Just give him the name and he can go through all the big songs and think either circus (Tears of a Clown), zoo (Mickey's Monkey), you get the picture.

"I love it when we're CRUISIN together" ;)

Or you could give him a gourd (small pumpkin type thing) around Halloween time with "a" key or a key drawn on it. Gord"a" Key (Cay).

This is compliments of my 3 year old... I was making peanut butter and jelly for her this afternoon and she pulled out the bread - lo and behold - it was WONDER.

So how about "bread"

as a clue?

Never realized there is so much relating to the ship in plain sight!

What about...."One good meal can color your world!" in reference to dinner at Animator's Palate.

Wow! You guys are good. I was trying to think of something related to NASA (like the "I Dream of Jeannie" thing) . We have a script for our animal show at the zoo about the ferrets being used by NASA but the girl always pronounces it "Nassau"...as in the port on your cruise.

I would have the hardest time keeping a secret that long...good luck!

I am so excited. You all are the best! I'm going to spread the clues out....but now he's turning the tables on me.

He's decided that he's going to give me clues to tell me where he thinks we're going. He wants to keep a notebook of what my clues make him think of and what clues he then gives me.

Here was his clue for today:

Warren Beatty.

I told him, no, we're not going to Russia.

This could end up being very convuluted. I'm just tickled!:hyper:
