Anyone trying to get Narcoosees for a large party?

I was told that if our party was larger than 9 I have to call the restaurant directly to make the reservation, which I have no problem doing, but they never pick up the phone!

I left a voicemail early yesterday and i'm hoping that this will be enough.

Is anyone else waiting??? I understand if they prefer to do ressies this way, but I'm just nervous that all the tables will be taken up by the time the get back to us

That just doesn't sound right for some reason, but I've never booked at Narcosses before. I've booked for Grand Gathering of 21 multiple times, and always made the ressies directly through Disney Dining.
It may be worth a call back to DD to ensure you were given the correct information.

There is a direct line for group dining that you can call for parties of 8 or more. You can ask a CM for the number when you call the regular disney line.

I just called back and another CM told me that if there is a party of 8 or more it can only be booked through the restaurant directly. We can't even make them through the group dining number.

I don't mind booking seperately, but if there turns out to be no availability I won't be happy camper...We've been calling for the past 2 days!

I made ADRs for dinner for my group of 10 each night (including Narcossee's) through Grand Gatherings 407-939-7526.

BTW - we are there the second week of June.

Since we normally have large parties as a family and are used to being split, I just made three reservations for parties of 8, 6 and 6. Using three of the reservation numbers of the parties in my group. I too was worried about availability as well and didn't feel like going thorugh the hassle of calling the restaurant directly. And after going with large parties with free dining for the past 2 years, we found that service winds up being faster in smaller groups. We always inform the server that we don't mind splitting up. On the other hand we do eatout often as a family back home and on other trips so once again -- if it means ease of reservations, being seated in a timely manner and quicker/better/attentive service we will usually opt to be split up.

So I decided to give the direct number one more try before using your suggestions and it finally worked!

Since the restaurant is closed on Mondays (DUHRR!) i waited till Tuesday night at 5:50 to give it another try and we were able to get a table for all 9 of us.

I'm just really puzzled that 3 CM's told me that to make this "large party" ressie I have to call the restaurant directly, but some of you are able to get it through Grand Gatherings... weird...Anyway, I'm just grateful we were able to get what we hoped for!

I just finially found your thread about this because I was told this today. I am glad to hear it worked out. I will try calling again tomorrow if no one calls me back before than. Thanks for the info everyone This is why I the DIS.
