I went to the Dr's a week and a half ago & she said I should try Trim Spa to loose 10 lbs. She said I didn't need to do anything drastic but the 10 lbs should go. I bought the Trim Spa & have used it for 8 days as of yesterday... I am now 4 lbs more???!!!! I have watched what I ate & drank my water..I am wondering if it is "water" weight. I have never had a problem retaining water so how would I know if this is it. I don't want to call the Dr & let her think I am nuts.... :confused3

I don't know what Trim Spa is, but if it's a form of exercise, I may have an answer. When you start exercising or increase your exercise level, your body can think it's distressed. It will retain more water thinking it needs to compensate for the extra output. If you continue drinking your water, it should go away.

Also, I vary week to week depending on distance to/from TOM That could also be a factor. I would give it 4 weeks and weigh again then.

If you have only 10 pounds to lose--regardless if they NEED to go or not..I don't understand why your doc recommended a pill to do that for you. Without permanent change in habit, those 10 pounds are going to come back very easily.

**Isn't Trim Spa a pill---or am I thinking of something else?**

I have to agree with the other posters, a good, balanced diet with exercise is the only way to lose weight. There are soooo many benefits to eating right and adding exercise to your life then just losing weight. Stonger bones, improved health, better sleeping and that is just a few of the benefits.

There is no magic pill or 'diet'.

Frankly, I'm kind of surprised your Dr. recommended TrimSpa. Did she actually spontaneously tell you to take it, or did you ask her about it and she said it wouldn't hurt your health? If she spontaneously told you to take it I would consider looking for another doctor.

I'm not trying to be judgemental, but I can't imagine what kind of physician would tell a patient to take a diet pill to lose 10 pounds. She should have given you counseling on proper nutrition/exercise and given you some suggestions of lifestyle changes that would make you healthier overall, not told you to take a diet pill advertised by Anna Nicole Smith and sold out of the back of a magazine!

Regardless I hope this all works out for you. Good luck!

When I first started this getting healthy thing (I joined the gym in January, and have been going almost every day and eating pretty well), a friend and I decided we'd see what Trim Spa would do. The answer is NOTHING! I didn't gain any weight, but I sure didn't lose any (well, I lost weight but that was from the gym every night, and eating way better). I didn't have any more energy, or appetite suppression. When I stopped taking it, it almost seemed like I noticed more results! I took it through January, and stopped at the beginning of Feb. I've lost 15 pounds, and not one of those would I attribute to a pill. Eating well and exercising lots is doing the trick.

Personally, I wouldn't rely on any pill to lose weight. If you have 10lbs that need to go now, then step back and take a look at what you are eating AND drinking. If you are a pop drinker, then cutting back on that, switching to diet or better yet switching to water, will drop your weight fairly quickly. Also, choosing better foods and portion contol helps alot. I have lost 6 lbs. in almost 3 weeks just by portion control alone and cutting out the excess junk. It is a much healthier way to go and will allow you to keep it off permanently.

I agree with Pearlieq, in that I am surprised your Dr. suggested a pill for such a small amount of weigh. Remember Fad diets FADE away and are never long term.

I don't have personal knowledge about TrimSpa, but a friend of mine did take it. She claims she lost weight, BUT then she was only eating a very small meal ONCE a day and not increasing her water intake or exercising. Everyone could lose on one meal a day after awhile, but it wouldn't be good for you. Needless to say, a few months later after she quit taking TrimSpa, she gained every bit of her weight back and maybe a little more.

Stick with the good nutrition, lots of water, and exercise. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I didn't ask my doctor about trim spa, when she started to talk to me about the weight gain (it is only since December) I asked her if she could reccommend anything..she said to try trim spa & weigth watchers. To answer another poster's question, no ... I don't drink soda & when I do, it is only diet. I hate regular ..I have always had diet... I can remember drinking Tab.. now that dates me. As far as a "total" change of eating habbits... no it isn't that. I have had some major stress problems that I think has something to do with it. My eating has not changed other than I go thru phases where I crave sugar & have to have it. I am hypoglycemic & really need to watch it, my dad died at the age of 54 from diabetes (and I am not too far from that age myself now). I know that one's matabolisim slows down with age & between that, the stress & the surgar cravings, I think that is what is happening. Only other time that I was over weight was a year after my hysterectomy... and YES, that will make you gain weight dispite what doctors may tell you. I got that weight off and have kept if off for 8 1/2 years... only now is it creeping up on me. I know there is no miricle pill to drop the weight... My doctor mentioned Trim spa because of my sugar craving..she said she read somewhere that is helps cut down that craving.... I need to mention that she is my GYN... sorry to all you men out there ... I am thinking I may need to talk to my GP about having my blood tested again.... when my surgar is low, my thyroid is normal....when my sugar is normal my thyroid comes back wacky... so it is more to it than just diet & exercise for me... thanks for all of your imput.... my next step is to the GP... after my Disney trip this week :goodvibes

There is no magic pill. As has been said before if there was we'd all be thin. On Oprahs boot camp show she said something like if there was a magic way to do it she would have bought it. If a billionare can't buy a skinny pill. Then I doubt the rest of us are going to find the answer at our local drugstore.

I think you are on the right track to check with your GP before going further to lose the weight. Given the health concerns and conditions that you have, it is really the best start. Good luck to you! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I'm surprised that a dr. told you to use the Trim Spa, but I was just as surprised when my Doctor handed me a script for xenical without my asking--I am wayyyy overweight, but xenical is not the answer. I need to stick to the diet and be faithful to the exercise. BTW my little sister is using the Trim spa and says it is working for her--makes her feel full and she pushes away the food--dont know if its real or psychological. Of course she is already thin, so about 10 is all she could lose without looking/becoming unhealthy.
