Anyone try La Brea at DTD?

After reading about La Brea Bakery in DTD -- I really want to try it on our next trip to DL in October. I haven't heard too much about it on these boards. I heard they have awesome panini sandwiches and all kinds of yummy baked goods and bread. We have never made it over to DTD, and I am wondering if it is worth the time out of the park???

Yes, I have eaten there. The restaurant is divided into 2 sides. Facing the store, on the left, is a quick coffee/pastry type place. You order at the counter and then go. The right side is a sit down place. I thought both sides had awesome food. The sit down side was a bit pricey for what you got. I think we had french toast or pancakes and that was all you got - no sides just a few pcs of French toast (or pancakes).

Last November, they didn't open up until late in the morning so don't assume you can run down for a latte and croissant at 8:30am because they probably won't be open yet.

La Brea Bakery is good, I felt it was somewhat pricey (it was approx $30 bucks for a light bfast for 2 adts and a 5 yr old) and I have had better. It is one of the first places just outside of security (on the same side as GCH). If you are park hopping that it would not be that far out of your way. Give it a try.

we were staying at PP hotel, so it was on the way to the parks in the morning. We decided to stop in and get a quick pastry for the family. What a mistake! We each got 1 pastry...nothing hot or fancy mid you, and it was about $45.00 for 6 of us!!!! And we SHARED 2 oj's. The pastries were just o.k., nothing special. We like the main street bakery MUCH better!!! The food was better (to us), and it was alot cheaper!!! and, the lines were actually shorter/quicker. We waited about 30 min. at Le Brea, and maybe 5-10 min at MSB!!!
