Anyone tried this?

I saw a job posted on monster.com about sending in names and address to a direct mailing company. It pays $1.00 per name and address you send them. Checks are sent every Friday. If this is legit it seems to be a good easy way to earn extra dis money. Has anyone ever tried this?

Remind me not to give you my name and address... I have enough junk mail

I've seen these kind of things before but never tried it. Would love to hear someone who has had success with it.

I am not looking for addresses. I am looking for feedback. I know some people on this board are always looking to make extra money for their Dis trips. I just want to open the discussion so that the opportunity will be there if someone were interested in that type of work. Everyone likes to make a few extra dollars when possible.

I'm all for discussion on any topic, so thanks for bringing it up! With that said, though, this may be a good way to make money and a good way for your friends to want to stomp on your head. Would you send them your Christmas card list? Yikes! I would be interested to find out if anyone has actually done this and what addresses they sent it.

LOL, GoofItUp!! I have visions of angry people stomping on heads!

Actually this could be a way to make extra $$, though I don't think I'd do it myself. I wouldn't want a friend to sell my name and address...

On the other hand, perhaps this is the answer to the age old question of those with massive amounts of junk mail: "I wonder where they get my name and address??"

a good way for your friends to want to stomp on your head.

But would they know how their name got on the mailing list? ;) Anyway if its direct mailing it might be the coupon type deals where they send you an envelope of several offers like Sears or JC Penney's Photos, softner salt, Coca Cola, different collector type items.....

Seems like it would be easy to go through a phonebook and type up the addresses if you live in a small town and would know the different "city" parts of the address based on the street the person lived on.

Hmmmm I think I like this idea. Where on Monster was it found? And is it for all areas or just region specific?

Here is the info about the addresses that I found on Monster.com. I don't know if it is available in all areas. It probably is since it was listed in my small town. The job title was: Data Processors Needed Now! Work at Home. The website that the ad gave for additional information is:
www.workathomedataprocessors.com

Please keep in mind, I have no clue if this is a legitimate company to earn a few extra dollars. That is what I am trying to find out also. I would by no means give out my friends or relatives addresses. However, someone has certainly given out our addresses before or we wouldn't be getting all the junk mail anyway.

Maybe someone who is familiar with this will post.

Ahhhh here's the catch

In order for us to register you in our program, we do require a one-time registration fee of $29.95. This registration fee covers our expense in getting you started and inputs you into our computer pay system, which cuts checks every Friday for the names and addresses received that week.

There is no need to be concerned about this one-time fee because once you’ve submitted your first 200 names to us, we will immediately refund you this initial registration fee in full. This is in addition to the payment of $1.00 per name and address you send us.

Anyone remember that website where you could read and leave feedback about different companies?

Planet Feedback, and maybe Epinions? HTH

Because of people that do this, I am unable to use my own email! I get over 500 spam emails per day! I have had to add everyone's email addy's to my blocked senders list (then I know I really only need to read my delete folder emails). Should anyone that is not on that list (say someone as unimportant as an ebay seller of an auction I've bid on) try to email me, I wouldn't see it!!!! I can now only bid on auctions that state a shipping price in their listing (so I can send payment right away....via Paypal) or I'd miss that UNIMPORTANT email!

Yeah, I'm a little touchy with this crap, but when you open your email and download 500 per day (and try switching your email addy....but your ISP says, we don't do that anymore, USE OUR BLOCKERS (which are all web based) you tend to get a little touchy!

Trust me, this is one to pass on!! Your family and friends WILL NOT apprecitate it!

The government is going to step in and I CAN'T WAIT!
