I see that is part of the world passport collection. Has anyone tried this resort yet? How did you like it? Went to its official site, and I couldn't find a listing to what is include in the room, like dishwashing soap, is there a starter kit like DVC? Info aslo says that it includes airport transfer, can I do this through MS or do it directly with the resort.? Is there a car rental place nearby, or would it be better to do it at the airport?:goodvibes

My family stayed there before they were totally finished. It is a lovely location with many expensive homes in the area. The ocean is not right at the resort. You have to go a mile or so. We never went to the ocean close to the resort. We were lucky to be on the pool side. It has several pools and hot tubs with a beautiful set up. The rooms are about what you expect. We have stayed at Marriotts that had bigger rooms but mostly all the same. We were in a 2 BR. The second was suppose to have 2 beds but had a sofa and 1 bed. You could hardly move around when you had the sofa opened. It was not a very good set up. It was suppose to be for 8, but it really wasn't big enough for 8. The sofa was a love seat so it couldn't hold 2. The sofa in the living room was for 2. The master had a king.

The area is mostly residential. We drove several miles to find a grocery store. The traffic wan't very bad. We didn't realize that May wasn't a good time to go because of fog. It was cold and you couldn't even see the water most of the time. We loved the hot tug and the resort wasn't crowded. It was before all was opened though.

I am not sure we would go there again. CA wasn't exactly what I thought it would be and way too many people and cars. We took a tour and the ride took the most time. We were hours just on the road.

We rented a car. You really are stuck at the resort if you don't have one. It is not a commercial area so you have to drive to find places to eat. They have the stuff you need in you room-coffee, detergent, etc. We were there several years ago so much may have changed but I imagine it is still very residential.

It is a great location and lovely resort. Hope this has helped.

I haven't been to the resort. Marriott's routinely provide a box that is a starter kit with the basics. They also provide usually 2 coffee filter packs. TP, Paper Towels and Dishwasher detergent are usually provided upon request with a supply in the unit initially. Overall it is about the same as DVC though most don't provide a midweek cleaning of any type unless you request and pay for it.

NC does only have 2 BR units and is relatively easy to trade to if you plan a year in advance and have some flexibility. I know they do have construction going on, there is a notice on the MVCI website for this resort. I didn't see anything about free airport transfers. I did see a listing on the website of $17 from John Wayne and $48 from LAX.
