I'm looking for some opinions/reviews of the Keys to the Kingdom tour. My sister & I are headed to WDW in early October '09 for her 40th birthday :yay: . We've been several times but have never done one of the tours. We're only there from 10/4 to 10/8, but I thought this might be a good surprise for her. Any thoughts or recommendations? Does the tour start at the time the park opens or any earlier? Thank you for your help!

Hubby and I took the tour in '05 and really enjoyed the behind the scenes tour. We entered the park before opening and that was nice to beat the crowds. There are a few times in the morning to schedule, and we took early morning that also included lunch at the LTT. Good Luck.

My hubby and I did this in Sep 08. We LOVED it. I think that there is 3 tours a day, all early starts (something like 8.30am, 9am & 9.30am) It involves quite alot of walking, so have your comfy shoes on! I have been to Disney more times than I can remember but was amazed at how much I learnt.

You get lunch at Columbia house included in the price. And get about 1hour behing the scenes (seeing "underneath" Magic Kingdom)

Well, well worth it!!

Yes yes yes! This is a great tour, and I highly recommend it. In fact, I plan to do it again when I return in September!

My ds16 and I just did this last week. It was awesome. About 4-5 hours long and all was good.

The 8:30 is the best because you get to walk around MK with noone there! At 9 am the gates open and 1000s stream in .

You are "sworn to secrecy" and I think it is just to keep some surprises for others going to do the tour.

The lunch was really good! Sandwiches and salad were great.
You really need to have protection from the elements. The day we were there it was freezing and windy and I was in shorts! EEEKKK!

Lots of walking but a place or two to rest every half hour. There are about 30 tour guides who do this tour and they are the friendliest and happiest CMs. Enjoy!

During our last trip to Disney in 2008, my husband really really wanted to do the back lot tour (Keys to the Kingdom). I worried that it would take some of the "magic" away for me; did I really want to see behind all the beauty that I love? :confused3

Well, I reluctantly signed us up, and I had a wonderful time. We had an excellent guide, our group was nice; the wealth of information was astounding. There really is a story behind everything! I never knew how much thought was put into each and every piece of decoration, building, color schemes... I could have listened for hours. Lunch was good, the pace was fine, and we had a blast. :woohoo:

You should try it out, it was worth the money!!

Thank you all so much - I will definitely be booking the Keys to the Kingdom for our trip!

My husband and I did the KTTK tour last October on our Disneymoon. Even for a Disney geek like me, I learned some new things and it was definitely worth the money. Enjoy!

DH and I did it last March and we both loved it. We are considering doing it again or atleast another tour for our next trip. You both will enjoy it and learn somethings that may surprise you! :goodvibes
