Just wanted to give a heads up that Jet Blue will be updating their computer systems this weekends (Friday and Saturday). No one will be able to use online check from noon on Friday (EST) until sometime in the afternoon on Saturday. Also you will not be able to book or change Jet Blue flights via the Internet or Phone. The only way to make a last minute change or to book a flight will be at the airport itself.

I am a True Blue member. Here is the copy of the email I received this morning:

Dear TrueBlue member,

Next Friday, January 29, JetBlue will begin transitioning to a new reservation system. Although the new system will allow us to better serve our customers, the conversion is complex. As a result all of our reservations, booking and TrueBlue services will be unavailable from
12 noon EST on Friday, January 29 to Saturday afternoon, January 30.

This is how you will be affected during this time:
TrueBlue
oYou will be unable to access your TrueBlue account, book flights or make any changes to flights on jetblue.com or 1-800-JETBLUE.
oTrueBlue points may not appear in your account for up to ten days after you travel.
oIf you need to book an Award Flight or make changes to your itinerary, please do so before or after this period.

jetblue.com
oYou will be unable to book flights or make changes to reservations. If your matter is urgent and you need to book a flight or make changes to flights during this period, you can do so only at the airport.
oFlight status will be unavailable.
oOnline check-in will be unavailable.

1-800-JETBLUE
oReservation agents will be unable to book flights or make changes to reservations. If your matter is urgent and you need to book a flight or make changes during this period, you can do so only at the airport.

Airports
oCheck-in and bag-drop lines will be longer during and immediately after the transition.
oWe recommend that you arrive at the airport:
two hours before your scheduled departure for domestic flights.
three hours before your scheduled departure for international flights.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we make this important change to our business systems.

Sincerely,
JetBlue Airways

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't gotten that email yet. But dh and business associates are flying very early on Sunday morning..so this could impact their online checkin if they decide to go that route.

I got the email yesterday. It just keeps getting better. I am supposed to leave 7:46 saturday morning on jet blue. And now they are forcasting snow saturday too. It could be worse, at least it's not raining frogs yet.

Shaking my head over this too, our flight was moved from 7:30 to 6:30am and we are a little over a hour from the airport. Then we got the email telling us to "arrive two hours beforehand" .... that means leaving at about 3:15 am....

do you think the two hours thing is legit or a waste of passenger time? don't want to miss my flight, but I have 3 kids...

waste of passenger time? Many airport recommend arriving 2 hours ahead of time. Factor in longer waits since people have to physically check in at the airport and things will take longer.

I flew out of MSP a week ago. Security is normally a breeze. Due to construction in the terminal and more security, and longer wait lines at the counter, it took 3 times as long to clear the checkpoint. I am glad we gave ourselves the 2 hours we normally do.

What airport are you leaving from?

I would definitely arrive at least 2 hours early at Logan given the notice from Jet Blue. If it was a small airport perhaps it wouldn't be such a big deal but I wouldn't risk it at a large airport. Missing your flight with 3 kids in tow would be a lot worse than having to wake up early - in my opinion anyways.

::sigh:: I think you're right, but it's really depressing! We're all getting over colds right now and getting up this early is not going to be beneficial.

I do appreciate the advice though, thank you.

Yes I've gotten all of the emails. We are here in WDW and we fly out on Saturday 2:30PM. We know that most likely we won't be able to use RAC, but we do plan to stop by and check in the morning. I've not found out if "curb side" service will be available. It just says we must checkin at the airport. Hopefully Friday will go well and make it easier for us Saturday flyers. I'm glad that they did give us a heads up, but not happy about my bad luck on choosing my date to return home.

Just have to update!

Well Jetblue did not let me down!! Even though they were undergoing an upgrade, it never affected me using RAC on Saturday morning. CHecked my bags and got my boarding passes no problem. Got to the airport about 90 early just in case of any delays since we were flying home into a snowstorm and everything was on time. (I had called prior to leaving the resort too.) Got through security in 5 minutes and had time to grab a sandwich. The terminal/gate was PACKED, though. Seemed USair and AIRTRAN cancelled alot of their flights flying into the south and some DC. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop, but no, we boarded ontime, left on time and arrived at Dulles ontime. No bumps or problems and a very smooth flight. The co-pilot did joke about us being sure we wanted to leave 79 degrees to return to snow and 19 degrees! We arrived at a nearly deserted Dulles airport. Now the drive home was an adventure! It took us nearly 2 hours to drive home when it normally takes 1 hour--the roads were snow-packed.
