Check your itineraries!! I just checked mine and the fluight was going from La Guardia to west palm beach or something like that. The problem is that I was supposed to be leaving Boston and going to MCO. It said that I was also going back to la Guardia. I called and they told me that those flight were canceled but they hadn't updated itineraries since it was so far away. I ahve new flights and now I'm not leaving until an hour after original flight, which means I don't arrive til an hour later than planned. But, I do get to leave Orlando and hour later than planned, which also means I'll be getting home very late with two tired boys!! When I first asked, they swore that the flight numbers were right and when I argued that it couldn't be, he just said that the flight changed from the original numbers and those were correct(the LG to WPB numbers) after further checking on his part, he found that my whole flight was canceled and we were stuck on another flight.

So, he also said that seats were not guaranteed. In my plans in january,we were sitting in the front of the plane and had window seats for each boy. So the big question is, do I not print out my boarding pases and hope that I can get front seats or print my boarding passes and ask the gate agent to change them when I get there. Ugh!! What a mess !!

If your seats are moved, chances are you will not be able to get them back at the airport. Other people will have them. Delta is very easy to change seats, just go on their website and call up your itinerary under traveling & check-in, then itineraries & check-in. There's a button for "choose your seats". Most flights go out full so you will not have much flexibility if you wait.

If you are talking about tickets for Jan 2007, why get all worked up about it now? When you buy tickets so far in advance, it isn't unusual for there to be flight changes. Since this is a major schedule change, the airline will rebook you without any charges.

How can you print boarding passes for a flight for Jan 2007 now (unless I am not understanding when your flight is actually scheduled to take place)?

One of my flights from Bangor Maine to Orlando was cancelled on the way back. I just happened to look at my interary and it was changed. They put me on a 6:30 am leaving Orlando flight that arrived a hour later then my orginial flight and 5 before ! I said that was unacceptable as I had a child with special needs whom needed aresols and chest pysio- therapy and that could 'nt be done that time of morning and he wouldn't get another one until midnight ! I live in Fredericton, New Brunswick. It was 500.00 chaeper out of Bangor. I told her I would now have to stay in Bangor over night.

She put me on hold and then said " Can we fly you out of Fredericton for the same price"....

I got a one stop flight to Orlando from Fredericton for just 191.00 ! Holy cow I hit the jackpot!

Delta will come good for inconviences!

It is early still. Some airlines haven't even released their flight schedules for January yet! So you can expect the airlines that have already released preliminary flight schedules, like Delta, to still be moving flights around some. Once another month or two go by, all the airlines will have their schedules out, and the airlines that have had their schedules out since March will have firmed up the actual flight times a good bit.

I'm booked with Delta for our end of Oct trip...non-stop from Logan to MCO..got a decent fare of $185 pp. Well, it changed about 4 times just after Feb 1...had to call them each and every time to get my seats back. My dd and I are flying with another mom and her dd, and the girls want to have seats together, sort of. We have rows 23, 22, seats A and B. Had to keep calling in order to keep them that way. However, they haven't made any changes to the flights since early March. It's making me donwright nervous. The flight down is almost full, the flight back, not even close to 1/2 full. I'm sure that there will be changes at least to the return flight.

Your experience isn't unusual goofy: Most airlines release projected flight schedules 330 days (11 months) prior. Some airlines (most notably, Southwest and JetBlue) don't allow you to book flights until about 5 months prior. The intervening six months are typically marked by the airlines that allow you to book early, adjusting their flight schedules. By the time the economy airlines finally release their flight schedules, the airlines that had released their projected flight schedules six months earlier have pretty-much settled down with their changes. While you might have some random changes after that, here and there, it's much less frequent than during that first six months.

Well, my flight is in December, I bought them in january. I bought them early to make sur that I would have a seat towards the front of the plane. Acta=ually, I booked when it was still Song. My onkline thing didn't change but when I clicked on the flight number, it had the flight coming out of NY and I live in NH so I called to ask. After much arguing he finally looked up something and said "oh, you are right" he rebooked me but I got some crappy seats over the wing. That is not why I booked so early! I got a great price, half of what they are charging now. It is a non-stop flight and if they try to put me on anything other they will have a fight on their hands. I was promised a plane with TV's and non-stop service and somehting with no 1st class when I booked. It wasn't until later that evrything changed. I didn't even know of the impending change until after I booked.

Oh boy...I hope I don't have any regrets with Delta! I already bought our flight for an April 07 trip!

mine are not filled, 51 left for leaving, 70 left coming back- for aug :guilty:

We flew Delta last week to Hilton Head. We booked our flights in December 2005 and they changed at least 5 times. The kicker was the morning of our trip we got a recorded call from Delta at 7 am saying the flight was not full and they had cancelled the flight and rebooked everyone on alternate flights. We were rebooked on a 9 am flight. No way could we make it to the airport in time. I called customer service and they initially told me if we missed the 9 am flight we could not fly for two more days. After much discussion they rebooked us on American Airlines thru Dallas changing back to Delta to Atlanta and then to Savannah. Everything worked out but it was a nightmare! Watch your flights carefully and be prepared. The Delta flight attendant indicating Delta had been cancelling flights regularly!

I check my flights everyday when I have reservations, it only takes a minute and it gives my some piece of mind. I checked today and my fight going from Cincinnati to MCO on September 6 were gone. I called reservations and was told I would be rebooked on the 3 pm flight. I told them I could not do that as I do not get off work until 3 pm and since this was a trip I could not normally take, I could not ask for another day off. I am an administrative assistant to the principal a large high school in Cincinnati and three days off in September is big. We were flying out on the last flight of the day which was 8:40 pm, spending the night at MCO Hyatt and meeting our daughter and family the next morning. The person I spoke with gave me to a supervisor stationed in Salt Lake City, and he was wonderful. He booked us on a 7:45, landing at 9:50 on the 7th (which did not exist when I first booked). My daughter is landing at 9:35 from Charlotte (hopeful they do not get changed). After explaining that the whole party had to check in at one time because of the free dining we were receiving, he did everything in his power to take care of me. This was honestly the best Delta employee I have ever experienced. I will still check everyday just because and pray they don't make any other changes.

Good Luck to everyone who has to make changes

I don't think you will Mel. I booked my flight for Feb 07 the day it became available, we've gone from a Song flight to a Delta mainline flight. We've had a couple of time changes, and a couple of seat changes. Basically nothing unexpected when you book 11 months in advance.

Just keep an eye on your itineraries (I check every couple of days or so) and you should be fine.

Just booked 2 days ago, thrilled i could find dates to use skymiles - bos to mco during April - flights are gone now. When i check my itinerary, it shows La Guardia and Tampa. I booked first class seats on a non-stop flight, so i assume if they automatically rebook us it'll stay the same or i should be able to get my miles refunded. Think i'll sit on it a bit and hope Jet Blue opens soon. Last year by this time i had Jet Blue tickets for April.

Hey Deb! I checked earlier and my coming home flight has already changed. I just bought these tickets last week! LOL

I figure I'll start watching a bit closer at about 5 months out to be sure I get decent seats. I'll drive myself nuts for the next 9 months if I'm tinkering with it every day.

Thats kind of what happened with me. Call them and they will update online and give you your new flight numbers and times.

Call and tell them they need to get you there, whatever it takes. i'm glad I was able to bring this to your attention.

For future reference, keep in mind that seats are NEVER guaranteed, even when you buy full fare first class tickets as far in advance as possible.

As far as Delta making flight changes, this has been going on for many months, ever since Song began being absorbed into Delta. These changes should not be surprising anyone.
