Anyone travel to Freeport, what did you do there?

I am a beach person, and didnt know which beach to go to.... close to the port, or take a taxi?? Any help would be greatly appreciated, how is the shopping, where should I go? Any great restaurants???

We took a taxi to Port Lucaya both times that we went to Freeport on Disney Cruise line.They have several shops there,and we have found great buys every time we have gone.There is also a casino there if you want to check that out.We had better luck at the casino in Nassau.Have a great time!

DCL no longer stops at Freeport ... will you be going to Freeport on another cruise line?

We were on the last Freeport cruise, 12/14/03, and did the UNEXSO dolphin encounter. It was pretty good, we got to be in the water with a dolphin for awhile and they did some tricks for us.

The stateroom TV touted shopping in Port Lucaya, but we didn't, we were beat from the excursion.

Worth getting an AAA guide for, or a travel book.
