I think they just did some sneaky things with the point chart to not make it seem as bad, even though it is. The lower season point charts for studios for example. They start out the same price or cheaper than VGF but then get more expensive than VGF as you go up through the more expensive booking seasons. looks good on paper, saying "studios as low as", but then forces people to use more points than they expect if going during a more popular time.
And the big one is view categories and view upcharge. They seem to be trying to make more of the resort into preferred or theme park view compared to VGF, and they are charging a lot for it! The less desirable views will still be considered preferred if it can see the pool or the golf course. I bet there are very few standard views, mostly on the lowest floors. And on the lake side they will be giving a lot of rooms the "theme park view" if it can see any of the Magic Kingdom. VGF only has studios with TPV from the newest addition, and no 1brs or 2brs with TPV. This makes the average price for a 1br or 2br at the PIT skyrocket past even VGF, though we won't know by exactly how much until we get the breakdown of how many rooms have each view category
