Anyone think motion sickness pill is a good idea before Mission Space?

I would really like to try MS. The thing is, I love roller coasters, but spinning rides aren't really my cup of tea. (I cannot even stand the teacups) but I am really curious about mission space. My sister got very sick from it.

Does anyone else think this sound good: Don't eat right before and take a motion sickness pill? Or maybe wear those motion sickness wrist bands?

All this for a ride? Geez!

My partner is like you and can not stand the tea cups! He has no problems on Mission Space. We both make sure that we stay looking straight ahead...like the ride advises...and we have no problems.

Hope you enjoy the ride as it's one of our favourites :hyper:

Take Bonine.......it's a great OTC motion sickness pill, doesn't cause drowsiness and it lasts 24 hours.

If your really worried about getting sick on MS then its better to be safe then sorry. ::yes::

I know some who have taken a pill before going in and truly, better to be safe than sorry. I however, cannot stand spinning rides, but I have no trouble with M:S at all. I can't even tell the spinning is going on, and I would guess as long as you look forward you should be okay :)

I would take a pill. ::yes::

I get motion sickness. I can do Roller Coasters, but spinning rides make me very sick. I rode Mission Space, and I did feel very sick for the rest of the evening. I kept my eyes on the screen the whole time. I had a motion sickness patch with me, but didn't have it on  It wasn't as bad as riding on the tea cups. I did like the ride and am glad I did it.

In addition to the pill, I wouldn't go on an empty stomach. I'm not saying to cram some greasy chicken fingers and fries. But if you have some dry cereal, just eat some of that before you go on.

It's a personal preference. I always do better if I've got something in my stomach than if I have nothing.

EDITED: I WOULDN'T go on an empty stomach

I would we went in late oct. last year and made the mistake of doing the test track and walking right on to ms I mean with in 5 min of each other (it seemed to my DGF) I was fine but I had taken a pill df got a little woose didn’t need the bag but was clammy and sick. the next day she was first in line for the test track I ask her to marry me that night she is incredible

Forget the pill and use SeaBands. They are wristbands with a little accupressure ball that presses into the point on your wrists that eases motion sickness. As I recall, they are around 10-15 dollars and you can find them at most major drugstore chains.

We just got back and other than my anxiety, I had no problems with MS. I generally have no tolerance for steel coasters that do corkscrews or go upside down so I was extra cautious and put the patch on about 14 hrs. before riding. I couldn't even tell we were spinning except for a few seconds at the beginning of the launch. I just kept looking at the screen and remebered to breath, which is easy to forget.

I even went on RnRC for the first time with no problems. Going back in July and will ride both again, but will definitely use the patch again.

I don't usually get motion sickness, but I used those wristbands. I did get sea sick on a cruise I was on back in 1994, and bought them on the ship. I had no problem on M:S. My friend took a pill, she's been on it several times (she lives there).

Enjoy the ride & do what they tell you, and you'll enjoy it!

I am a fan of Bonine...I can do coasters and drops and stuff, but spinning or riding in a car makes me very sick....

Bonine is much much better than the Dramamine days...not drowsy and I can do a lot of things I could not before.

I would definately take something before you go on MS......My theory is this....I can chance it and be miserable for the rest of the day or go ahead and take the Bonine (which at least for me, has no side effects) and enjoy the ride!

If you take Bonine make sure that you try it out at home first. We (my DH, DD, and myself) took it when we were at Universal in April. We took it the night before in case it caused any sleepiness, but we were all wiped out the next day, especially my DH and myself. It took 24 hours for it to be out of our systems. The label says it doesn't cause drowsiness, but that is not always the case (we tend to react the opposite to medicine...).

Next time we will try the Seabands.

I get motion sick on most everything. Roller coasters are definitely NOT my thing. RcnRC was horrible! That said, MS was JUST FINE. Just remember - look STRAIGHT AHEAD - do NOT look to either side!!!!. You won't even know it is spinning! Plus, the G forces give you an instant facelift! AAHH the wrinkles were gone if only for a few seconds!!!
