I am at Disneyland today and shocked at how absolutely crowded it is! I fondly remember being able to walk around without having to dodge people every step. And since a ton of DL is closed, the rides have such long lines. Add that to so many rides being temporarily closed, this trip is really disappointing. Within 24 hours at two parks, we had three rides close down as we were waiting line. And they basically say, we don't care you just waited an hour...leave. hoping the next two days are more magical..

Oh, dear...... hopefully tomorrow is a much better day for you.
:tinker:Sending you Pixie Dust pixiedust:

We're locals and I'm taking my daughter there after school tomorrow. Was hoping for light crowds. Fingers crossed for both of us!

I have gone for Halloween time the last two years and I'm not sure I'll go again next time. The parks are too crazy in October now!

Ah, that is my fault for assuming it would be a lower crowd time. Yikes. It's almost better knowing that Halloween time is busy, and it just isn't a bad luck fluke (but all the ride closures must be). All the websites said 3/10 (or close too). I'd really hate to see what 10 is!

So I went back to hotel while husband and kids stayed at park...Another ride broke down while they waited. Seriously this NEVER happened at Disney world. Disney will be getting feedback, but if they care as much as the cast members have so far, it's falling on deaf ears.

The crowd calendars are waaaay off for October, basically. It's felt busier than most of the summer did.

The ride closures are a bummer - I imagine that lower staffing is contributing there.

If you go to City Hall and let them know about all the rides that have broken down while you're in line, they'll give you ride passes.

We just got back from our first day. Little bigger crowds than we were used to, but that's to be expected. But it did seem a little more crowded than predicted. We were halfway in line at Roger Rabbit's when it went down (the music and voices just stopped, uh oh...). We stayed and it took about 10-15 minutes to get restarted. What got us though was the rudeness of some of the other people (line cutting, shoving from behind, and my personal favorite: strollers used as a battering ram/blockade device). I know it's a fact of life here but this was on another level today. On a positive note we had an amazing interaction with a CM today. He noticed my shirt (was wearing a shirt our company makes) and we was truly interested in it and asked all kinds of questions. Even at dinner were still raving about how polite he was and how much of an interest he had in our shirts/designs. Three more days and a Halloween party to go; hope they get better.

Well...on the 3rd day and the 5th ride breaking down when we were in line, we went to customer service to complain. We got 3 fast passes. And to my astonishment, on our 4th day Disney customer relations called me and then gave us 3 more. At first I was feeling all awesome about it...bit then I felt it was the very least they could do.

Overall still, I am disappointed on how less magical DL is from DW. Little things like when my daughter went to BBB (which was very rushed this time), only two cast members all day called her princess. I remember her being called princess many many times at DW. It was just a lot of these small differences that made out other trips so amazing and this one just so-so.

I can't ever imagine going back there, especially when they have star wars land! I can't imagine how crowded that will be.

Had this in the back of my mind as well. Who knows how many non-Disney Star Wars fans there are that will come to DL after that lands completion; I shudder to imagine.

MTE. Eek!
I think when Tomorrowland had Hyperspace Mountain and other Star Wars attractions; it gave us a peek at what it will be like with StarWarsland. As it was bottle necked and crowded over there.
