anyone there this week - how are crowds?

Just curious how crowds are this week - the height of Spring Break season and all?

Our last visit, end of Feb/early March this year, we found the crowds have grown considerably over the same time previous years. While that is discouraging I am beginning to think perhaps going during the 'off season', when hours are shorter and kids need to take time off school, might not be the benefit it once was. Especially since we've turned into rope drop, always have a fast pass, take a break mid day type people.

Will be curious to see the reports that come back from this week and next.

I just got back and the crowds are pretty substantial (at least they were over the weekend). The parks were busy, with fairly lengthy lines for most attractions by mid-morning (>30 minutes), but it wasn't so busy that it was tough to move around the parks (except right after the parade/fireworks). If you have the official DL App, you can check current wait times to see how things are shaping up today.

Thanks! Yes, I have been checking the app - and will do so later this week as well - just to get an idea. But I find crowds are so much more than just wait times especially at DL - it's that not being able to move I would not like - lines are another thing entirely. hope you had fun!

I think most Spring Breaks are this week or next week (although my nieces aren't off until the week of April 4th) so I would imagine it should pick up for the next two weeks. My friend is headed down there on Wednesday so I'll ask her and try to remember to report back!

We are headed there later this week and I have been watching the line wait times today on the Disney app to get a feel for the crowds. Radiator Springs Racers ran out of fast passes at 10:25am today. Space Mountain is showing fast pass return times of 7:15pm as of noon. Soarin never showed fast passes today (not sure why). I am mentally preparing for terrible wait times while simultaneously hoping for a miracle.....

LOL pooh is 15 mins? All the apps are reporting insane waits. Like 75 on the big rides and 65 on IASW? Wowzers. Reminds me of the old days, boo!

When we went by at 845 ( or slightly earlier) rsr fastpasses were all gone. We waited about 50 minutes to see Anna and Elsa starting right after 11. Yesterday did not feel as crowded.

Vegas schools are out this week for Spring Break. That is going to push up the numbers.

According to figment's thread on all the events this year - it appears this is one of the heaviest for Spring Breaks - and considering this coming weekend is Easter - I figured this would be around peak time to have a look at what we'd be in for should we decide to visit during our spring break.

Soarin did not show FP wait time when we were there a few weeks ago - we were still able to pull them though. I think there is a defect in the app for that ride.

Yes, this is an app defect. We were there last week and had the same issue, app was always showing no FP available, but it was.

Was in both parks yesterday the 20th. i have never seen DCA as busy as it was yesterday when you notice lines that are longer and lined up in places you have never seen lines before it's got to be crowded

The weekend was busy, but today seems more crowded. DL entry lines were very long at 9AM (8AM open), across the esplanade (almost reaching DCA).

As a point of reference, fwiw. We hit the security lines at 740 this morning. It took us until 803 to clear security and enter the gates to DCA. We went first to soarin, and finished it about 830. We then went to get rsr fast passes and they were all gone. All in all we had a good day, but it was very crowded. We left the park at about noon for a break and I was amazed at the lines at the ticket booths.

Wow! RSR fast passes gone within half an hour? I have never heard of them going that fast - one would think it would take longer than that to pull all of them even, well that seals it for me!

Now I don't trust the Disneyland app at all. It showed RSR fast passes available until 10:25am. That's 2 hours past when you said they ran out. I was really hoping I could trust the app to save me walking to different fast pass machines to see what times are available

It seems strange that RSR FP's would be gone that soon.
The DLR app always seemed pretty accurate IMO.
It will be interesting to see how crowds are this week compared to other busy times I have been (New Years, Summer, Run Disney Events).
