Anyone there now that can comment on FP enforcement

Why would you raise the "policy' issue again? He didn't mention rules at all. He said that other guests were impacted.

What a childish response.

Because we did not run anough circles and there are still alive horses left.;)

My only point is that many policies inconvenience one guest over another. What matters to me is whether someone is sneaking a way around what is accepted or not.

I will not be there by RD but instead at 2PM, getting FP you did not hoard earlier.

Sorry, I'll still be getting and using them. Just like I always did before. It might take a little more running around, but my doctor says it's good for me.

And if you're coming to DHS at 2 PM, I hope you enjoy that 2 hour standby wait. I'll wave at you as I enter the FP line.

I will, thank you. And you can 'enjoy' your opinion, which you have apparently formed from 1,000 miles away, with no direct knowledge or observation of the subject.

I still haven't seen a single credible report that anything is better about the lines, earlier or later.

Most of what I see are more people being inconvenienced than ever before. If FP lines were significantly better, we'd certainly be hearing more about it already.

We do have reports that FP lines were shorter then usual.

... and we have reports of FP lines longer than normal. Doesn't sound very conclusive to me........ unless you have a position you're trying to support and just choose the reports you want to believe.

Glad you see good in enforcement, running is always good!
I am sure many will look at the clock before pulling FP,;) so I think I will be just fine!

I concede that it is also possible that Disney intended all along that fastpasses be used specifically within the window. It is presumptuous to assume either way without allowing for evidence contrary. Either way there was a written policy allowing late fastpass use. I can't fathom how you can not see that this is a change.

How can you not? From the beginning there was a window of time listed on the Fastpass. Nowhere on it did it state that you could use the past any time after the start of that window. There was a beginning time and an ending time. Only on the Dis would people even assume that that didn't mean Disney wanted you to go during that time frame, that the time listed was somehow open-ended, even though there was a starting time and an ending time.

Did they change that? No. Did they allow people to deviate from it? Yes. that doesn't mean that the original intent of using the FP in the time frame given was changed. It just means they were trying to spread some magic around.

Nice to know too that my week long experiences in the parks after the start of the FP enforcement, with short FP lines for Splash, Space Mountain, Expedition Everest and Test Track are not considered credible.:sad2: And yet, never did we wait more than 10 minutes in the FP lines for those rides.

If people want to believe everything is negative, that the lines are horribly long, then I guess they will. Maybe that will just turn into more room in the parks and even shorter lines for the rest of us.

My only concern is if my FP return time is during an ADR time. There's nothing I can do about that. Does anyone know what options I'll have then??:confused3

I guess you could conclude that things are running the same as usual--sometimes you run into short lines, sometimes you run into long lines. Sometimes it is all in how lucky you are.

(1) It's one of the busiest times of the year, with record attendance. It may not be the best time to judge the impact of the new practice.

(2) Of course some people are being inconvenienced. They're no longer allowed to do something they're used to doing, and haven't adjusted their touring yet.

Well, it's 12:30 there now... and according to the Lines app, they are distributing FPs for 8:30 tonight. So I wouldn't wait until 2 if I were you.....

Oh please. It was policy completely allowed by Disney. Na na na na boo boo.

It was no more inconveniencing other guests than using a FP inconvenienced those in the SB line.

That was not my point. My reponse was in reply to:

I'm so sad they made this change, essentially because they took a system that worked great to no ones detriment and made changes that make the park experience less fun

My point is that the old system was a detriment to others.

There was one report of a poster being told they could show their meal receipt to the CM and get on the ride. The best thing is still to not pull a FP that conflicts with your ADR time.

Yes, your options would be: not get a FP, since it conflicts with your ADR, cancel your ADR, or use the SB line so you can do both, ride AND eat.

And my point is that the FP system is a benefit to FP users to the detriment of standby riders. And EMH is a benefit to those staying onsite to the detriment of those staying off-site.

So what? Disney makes the rules. They chose to allow late FP's. They choose to allow early entry on EMH days. Nobody using a late FP was sneaking behind anyone's back to do so, skirting the rules.

And round and round in circles we go.

Same can be told about reporting longer lines, are they actually longer or people try to support their point.:confused3

Good point! I've never paid ANY attention to those signs above the kiosks that say when the FP return will be. THANKS for the tip!

Many people here may tell you to not get the FP if it conflicts with an ADR. I will still get the FP and try to trade it with someone else for a later time. Waiting until later to pull the FP will end up reducing the number of FPs you can get in a day if you're trying to maximize that.

1. You can CHOOSE not to pull the FP
2. You can CHOOSE to miss your ADR
3. You can CHOOSE to come back later and try to pull another FP for an acceptable window of time.

Yes. You will have 4 choices. You either:

A) Think ahead that the return window time interferes with your ADR so you do not take the FP

B) You go ahead and ride the attraction standby

C) You return later to see if you can still get a FP for a time that does not interfere with your ADR

D) You go ahead & take the FP and skip the ADR completely (calling the 407-WDW-CNCL number to cancel the ressie)
