Anyone there MLK weekend and after this year?

I remember reading a thread where the crowds were crazy in January this year. I'm curious how they were MLK weekend and the week after.

MLK is a week later in 2019 so it works perfectly with my job. We're looking at going Jan 19-27. We'd fly in on Sat and plan on going to MK just to see fireworks (hoping to get the dessert party). And then on Sun doing Disney Springs and a little time at Epcot in the evening. Not sure what we'll do on Monday but hoping the crowds will clear by Tues.

Anyone have any experience going in 2018 at this time?

I was there Thurs-MLK day, so I cannot help with the after part.

We did Epcot on Friday morning-afternoon and it was pretty crowded in World Showcase. The arts festival had just started that day, so that probably had more to do with it than anything else.

Saturday at AK and HS - very nice and manageable.

MK was a madhouse on Sunday. We went back to MK on MLK day until about 1pm and it was fine, although Main St was pretty congested as we were leaving.

P.S. We went from wearing shorts on Friday to being FREEZING the rest of the weekend. Keep an eye on that forecast right before you get there!!

We were there from MLK until the following Monday. It was EXTREMELY crowded the entire week. I have been to disney alot. All different months and it really caught us by surprise. Most big rides were between an hour and a half and 3 hour waits. One day (I do believe it was the weekend following mlk though) you could hardly walk in world show case. I do think it was abnormal though so you might have better luck.

Oh geez I hope it was abnormal! Hoping with MLK being a week later it will ease the crowds. Maybe hopeful thinking.
