Anyone there currently can report on monorail being down?

How is it effecting the travel during the day between resorts?

Of course that means more people on buses. We are staying at POR...and we definitely have to head back for an afternoon break and plan on coming back. We are going during a busy week- President's day week.

Thanks!

If you are staying at POR and using Disney transportation, you don't take a monorail to the Magic Kingdom. It is all buses. Those buses only serve POR, so I doubt the monorail resorts not being able to use the monorail would have any effect on anyone staying at POR.

I agree, if you are staying at POR, it will likely have no effect on you at all, assuming you are using buses to get around.

The only time if might affect you is if you are specifically going to one of the monorail resorts. (even there, only if you would have taken the monorail) the other time it might impact you is if you plan to drive a car to MK. In our case, we did, but taking the bus to MK was much faster than taking the monorail would have been. Instead of walking up the monorail queue, we just hopped on a bus that almost immediately left for MK and dropped us off closer to the gate than the monorail depot would have dropped us off.

I am just back, but last year and the year before our vacations also coincided with monorail shutdowns. On those two trips, we were actually staying at a monorail resort. If you are staying at a monorail resort, the monorail being down was a it of a downer. not a vacation ruiner by any means.

I just wondered if it has impacted traffic at all getting in/around the resorts, having all those extra buses. The only time we're going to a different resort is the GF from MK for dinner.

Thanks!

I don't think there will be that many more buses. It will mainly affect the three monorail hotels and they will likely walk o CR, or take the boats to GF, Poly. The Ferry will take guests back to the TTC and the Poly. They are using larger boats and more ferries so that will help there. Yes there will be more buses but I have been there on nights during holidays where the bus numbers were increased and traffic wise it isn't that big of a deal.

I am renting a car and had planned to park at TTC and take the ferry but it seems the lines for the ferries will be quite long? We are staying at Boardwalk but I have heard the service to MK is not great. I don't like waiting - wondering if I will be waiting longer for ferry or for bus to MK? Though I suppose there are also buses from TTC to MK.

How long are they supposed to be working on the monorail? We're spending extra money to be at BLT for the monorail/nap thing with our 4.5 month old.

I don't think it was any more buses. Last week Contemporary was sharing a bus either with boardwalk or beachclub can't remember which it was just near us at the PO-FQ stop at MK.
