Anyone tempted with the cruise offer?

I never realized how expensive I was !! I really want to add on the cruise to my January trip too ! How often have they ever had this kids cruise free deal ??? I would $2,600 for my family to go.

This is why we've only cruised once before, the price! They did kids free last year too, although it was through May. And the price really depends on which week you choose. If there is a holiday around the cruise, of course it's a lot higher.
We're doing a 4 night for 4 of us, $977, no insurance or transfers.

Re: the level 5 cat. 10 rooms. I look online and it says that the rooms are available, however when I try to book it online it says that there is a problem and won't let me book it. Any thoughts? Hmmm...... I guess I'll try calling them today. ::wish me luck:: !

If I can get a cruise for under 1000 I think I'm doing really well. Thats my cruise budget. There are 4 of us.

I would definitely give them a call! Good luck!!!

We booked with the special - Feb 28th - 2 adults, 2 children, $977.00 - can't beat it. We were going to go to WDW in December with free dining, but jumped on this as soon as I saw it - would much rather cruise:banana:

:wave2: We booked the same cruise. 2A & 2C. I couldn't believe the price. I was looking a few days before the promo came out and decided that we couldn't afford AP's and a cruise so this was a terrific surprise. Looks like you booked cat. 12 too so :wizard: hopefully we get good upgrades. But then again, I don't expect to be in the cabin much anyway.

I'm more than a little tempted to tack on a 3 night cruise to the end of our Jan trip. It would make for a nice vacation after the craziness of a week at WDW! :rotfl:

Compare 3 day to the 4 day too. For some of the weeks there was very little difference in price.

I want to book a cruise sooooo bad, but the husband keeps saying no we can't afford it. But this is such a good deal, I need to talk him into it.

That's the cruise we booked too!

We could only go over Easter Week. The cost is still prohibitive for us. Shucks. My kids are 14 and 16 and there are rarely any offers for kids that old.

Yep we are booking today for the April 11th first cruise ever. We are following that with a 10 day stay in Disney.

Yeah, the 4 night was originally what I was looking at, but the sailing dates don't work well with our schedule. The 3 night fits in better and will make for a better balance with park time, which is important too since this is our "baby's first Disney trip" vacation.

Can someone help me a little? :teacher:I've never investigated DCL with any depth because it was always so expensive. With the kids sail free deal though, we can probably swing a short Bahamian cruise.

Does anyone know how the room categories work? Which is most expensive to least expensive? Is there a webpage where I can view the rooms? We are a family of 5: 2 adults, 3 kids. So, does that eliminate some room options for us?

Help! :confused3

I'm by no means an expert just haven taken our first DCL in June..but I can tell you this that 3rd kid really throws a wrench in things. To take advantage of this promotion you need both parents in a room so that means you need to book a cat 4 for everyone to fit. The higher the Category number the cheaper the cost. Category 12 is the cheapest going up to Category 1 the most expensive. We are a family of 5 and booked 2 Cat 12's in June and it was still cheaper than what this promotion would be for us all in a Cat 4 on a 4 day. So unfortunately this is not even remotely tempting for us.

I find that the 3rd kids throws a wrench into a lot of things with Disney - why is that?! Geesh. Thanks for the info. I need to investigate the room categories to see what each offers, I guess. Did you have connecting rooms when you booked two? How did that work?

Where did you find this rate? sounds too good to be true. ;)

I booked through the DCL website - guarantee category 12, but since category 12's only hold 3 people we will automatically be upgraded to at least a category 11.

Angie,

Yes we booked cat 12 - I was so excited, I don't really care where I end up, but I know it will at least be a cat 11 since there are 4 of us. The price is soo good, I'd be happy anywhere and you're right we aren't in the cabin much, just to get dressed and sleep!

I started a meet thread for our cruise - stop over and join us!!

No we had adjoining rooms, side by side. The lowest connecting categories are 10's. We booked 12 gty and ended up with 11's. They let you book a 12 w/4 in the room but they actually can only hold 3 so you assured of an upgrade to at least an 11. The only difference between 11 & 12's is location. We had a great time and loved the 2 rooms, I'd not want us all in one. I don't know when we'll ever be able to go again they had some great rates for the June 13th, 7 day western we paid 3500 for our two rooms. When I check with this promotion to get us all in one Cat 4 it's 4k...can't see paying more for a lesser day cruise when we wanted to stay on longer than the 7 the first time.

How did you go about booking this? We also have 5 in our family and we really need to go during the summer because I hate pulling the kids out of school. But, I'm not sure how to check into prices for 2 cabins?

Start the booking for 1 room, with 4 or less. When you get to the stage of looking over the information, choosing your dining seating, etc. there is an option to add a stateroom to the reservation. We travel with my mother, making us a group of 6 that needs 2 rooms for privacy's sake, and pricing the total for two rooms on the DCL is MUCH easier than pricing two rooms/packages for the WDW part of the trip!
