Not the Disney courses, but online ones through your school. I'm considering taking classes but I either have to take 6 credits or none in order to keep my financial aid. None would be nice but I don't want my financial aid to go to waste. I'm planning to work as much as possible, and when I'm not working, have fun, so I'm still undecided. Should I just ditch school for the semester?

I took 3 classes (9 credits) while i was down there, and it was probably a little much. I worked 40 hours min every week unless i specifically asked for an extra day off. When I wasn't working the last thing i wanted to do was a lot of economics homework. If you think you can manage your time well enough I say go for it, but if you don't think you can plan out time for assignments, studying, and taking tests at the proctoring center, and still have fun down there then don't take any. you wanna make sure you can have a great time down there as its one of the most fun times ever in my book :thumbsup2

My DD is taking 12 credits from Central Michigan University (you can find a link to them on the CP page). Her school wouldn't give her credit and she needs 12 credits to be a full time student and be covered under my insurance. She will have to write a paper about her experience and interview some supervisors, I think. You can take 3, 6, 9, or 12 credits. It was the least expensive way for her to do it and then she can transfer those credits to her school as general ed. credits. It seems like a lot less work than a "real" online course. I don't think you will have much time to study, do research, etc. if you are working 40+ hours a week.

I will be taking 12 credits to maintain concurrent full time status with my school (URI) in order to keep my scholarship. Unfortunately, no matter how I begged they refused to give me credit for the internship claiming that it is "not enough work" to be eligible. Whatever. They would give me credit for a PI, but I wasn't able to get one :-(

Anyway, I am taking 4 online classes (all at only a 100 or 200 level), one of which is not even counting toward my major so I will be taking it Pass/Fail so that it doesn't effect my GPA and an A is the same as a D.

Taking classes pass/fail may be a good option for you if the courses are not required (Depending on what your university does).

We'll see how I make out. I am hoping to still be able to have fun **fingers crossed**

:-)

I was a full-time grad student during my CP. My courses were online, but I think it boiled down to 12 credit hours over the 5 months. I also took a DU course and was able to get 2 days off per week for the classes (except during "labor exception" periods, which was Spring Break) I also homeschooled 2 children, so it most certainly can be done. It all depends on your level of commitment and ability to manage your time.

I am signed up for 10 credits through my college online, I thought about going for full time for 12, but I do not want to get in over my head between work and perhaps taking a course through Disney. 3 of the credits will actually be an independent study so I'm looking forward to that. Math is a different story I need that to stay on top of getting further into my major. Right now I'm debating on whether or not to keep my psych. class that I signed up for :confused3

I'm only taking 8 credits online which is 2 classes. They are split up in half so I take one the first half quarter (my skool is on the quarter system) and the other the second half of the quarter.

I hope I won't be too stressed since it is only one class I have to worry about but one of them is Intro to Film & Video so I need time to shoot, edit etc.

So if I sign up for the Disney University classes I ALWAYS get two days off except for doing the Spring Break Peak Periods??

I should clarify...I worked at DAK, so I always had my DU class day and my distance learning "class" day off because our park hours allowed. If you are at MK, for instance, you could very well be scheduled to work a shift after your class time. It also depends on your scheduler. Some of them will try to give you your class days off outright, while some will still schedule you for shifts and give you other days off. I like it because I had a more steady schedule for the most part.

i plan on taking a couple Disney classes while down there! i just have to figure out which two...they all sound so fun.

I'm going to be taking a 3 hour online class- American Gov't and Politics. I signed up for Survey of Mass Communications just in case I somehow can't get everything to go through in order for me to be able to get credit. HOPEFULLY everything will be okay and I can drop that course and only take political science!
