Just curious what is the youngest age you have taken a child to Disney.....

we usually go for Valentine's and we will have a new baby by then....I know she would do fine as far as being in a Baby Bjorn and sleeping most of the time. Germ wise - I am not too worried about that. We had our now 2 year old out the first week....no where as large as Disney though and she was fine......

just curious what your experiences have been....

I think that generally people advise against it but I don't have any children so I may be out of line to even comment.

We took our 3 month old a few years back..........it wasn't difficult at all....................he slept in his stroller while we walked the parks...........The toughest part may have been getting mommy on rides and then switching so daddy could get on the rides..........

but other than that, all they do is sleep and eat........

Oh, yeah, and poop.......but there are plenty of changing stations.............PLENTY..........:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

We took our 3 month old in January of 2002 and we had a great time. It was my moms first trip ever to Disney, and it was me and 3 kids. My DH came down half way through the trip. We did the baby swap when ever I felt like riding, but I was more that happy to just sit with the baby while my mom rode with my 2 DD's. We had some pretty hot January weather (mid 80's) that trip, but the baby was great. He rode everything we rode with out the height restriction and he did fine. Sometimes when he was sleeping, Id just pick him up and take him on a ride and he never woke up.

The baby centers are AWESOME!! Take advantage of them. They have anything you could possible need there to buy, they have bathrooms, changing rooms, feeding rooms with high chairs, dark nursing rooms with rockers, a play room for older kids with a tv, and a kitchen with water, &microwave. The water is the polar water dispenser, so I never had to buy any! All of the bathrooms have the baby changing stations in them. Just remember to bring some DISPOSABLE changing pads to put down for in the bathrooms. I lay paper towels down if I forget the pads!!

The baby slept perfectly fine in his stroller all day. I just draped a receiving blanked over the front of it to keep the sun out. We had a great time with a 3 month old. He just turned 3 and he's getting ready to go back on his 6th trip!!

Three of my kids are adopted. When the second came she was sort of a last minute surprise! (She was the sibling of the first I adopted). We already had our trip planned (and had already rescheduled it once due to my mom's illness). So we decided to take the baby at 8 weeks old. We kept her in a chest carrier type thing and it was our easiest trip. I think germs are more of a concern when they are a little older and they are sitting in rented strollers and highchairs and touching everything!! I was concerned about the germs on the plane (with the air recirculating but she did fine). The pediatrician said she was probably at a safe age since she still had immunity from birth mom. Since she was formula fed, we did bring bottled water and requested a refrigerator in our room.

Another time when she was about 18 mos old we went with two 9 month old foster children. The only problem that time was the triple stoller (and it was Easter). We drove that time and did not use Disney transportation. I would have never been able to get that huge stroller on the busses!

As far as baby swaps go --the older two kids loved that they got to ride twice without waiting in line a second time. Once with mom and once with dad!

Keep in mind that all babies are not happy to sit in a Bjorn or in a stroller. My first one loved it, my second did not. Just be flexible!

Have have taken two different babies--each at 3 months. Honestly, I spent a lot of park time in the baby care centers while the rest of my family went to attractions. But still, I was in WDW so I had fun!

We went for the first "family" time when DD7 was 11 months and DD9 was 33months. Double stroller was a must. It really wasn't that bad, the stroller doubled as our pack mule (my job now :) ). Staying onsite is a must though. You can go back to the hotel and rest when necessary. A must during those cranky times for Mom and baby.

Took a 4 mos old and it was a breeze. Didn't slow us down for a minute ! Easier than a toddler :hyper:

Have been there with 4 newbies (2-6 months), including my younger son and each of my 3 nieces. My own experience---absolutely no troubles at all.

We have annual passes. I have ds(10) and ds(6months). The baby has been visiting WDW weekly since he was 6 weeks, usually just for a few hours. We have had positive magical visits every time. He loves the bright colors and lights in the attractions. He loves the fireworks and doesn't cry with the bangs, which surprised us. We stayed on property several weekends this summer, he loved swimming in the pool, water temps were perfect for him. We already have rooms booked for a weekend in Jan and one in Feb. The older one loves the baby swap! He gets to ride the attraction twice! Most of the attractions do allow hand held babies on them! As for the characters, he loves them! Especially the ones in soft "furry" costumes. He also loves to wear hats. So on our last trip to MK, we bought him a set of Mickey ears with his name on it. They are a little big, but he wears them proudly.

Well, I don't have any germ issues or anything like that. My biggest issue would be how baby sleeps at night. With both of mine the first 10 weeks or so were absolute he**! We were up and down no less than 4 times a night. Plus, both were colickly and had formula problems--didn't make for very happy babies! At that point I would not have enjoyed a trip to WDW. Now, once they started sleeping through the night (or at least just getting up once) I would be all for a trip! We'll be there in Dec. with our 6 month old and 5 yo.

I took my dd when she was 10 weeks old. We went with my sister and BIL who had a 6 mo old. We would do baby swaps by family so I'd have my dd in the sling, my husband would have my niece in the baby bjorn and we'd both be holding my 2 1/2 year old sons hands. People looked at us like we were insane!

We had a good time. It was the last time *WE* ever got any say whatsoever in our day.
