Anyone take the "new" Illuminations Cruises that began on Oct. 1st?

Just curious about the differences. What kind of snacks and beverages do you get for the extra $100. Is there anything else different about it?

Here's a bump... PM me in 3 weeks if you still need an answer. And yes, those $100 snacks better be worth it ;-)

Soft Drinks: 6 Cans of Coke, 6 Cans of Diet Coke, 6 Cans of Sprite, 6 Bottles of Water
Snacks: 4 Bags of Lays Chips, 4 Bags of Popcorn, 4 Bags of Pretzels, 4 Bags of Doritos
4 Bags of BBQ Lays Chips
If you want anything additional it is handled directly with Yacht Club Private Dining
And your driver can adjust any of the above numbers (8 cans of Coke and 4 cans of diet) to better suit your liking upon your arrival at Bayside Marina.

I assume that refreshment list would be about the same for us doing the "deluxe" level for Wishes?

Another question...since you paid for it, are you able to take whatever is left over at the end of the cruise?

What good questions! We cruise on Oct. 17. Any answers before then would be greatly appreciated. Anything not answered by the time we get back, I will try to answer! :flower:

I'm also curious about taking the extra food. Part of me thinks this would be tacky, but I also feel that it is justified for raising the price $100. What do you think?

We didn't get that much variety in the chips dept. I remember regular lays chips and pretzles that is it. Our driver did say we could grab some pop (soda, whatever) on our way out if we would like.

Our cruise had Potato chips..reg & BBQ & pretzels. Variety of cans of soda & bottled water.

Feel free to take what's left...you paid for it...the drivers don't mind (at least ours) whatsoever. We had a couple of waters left.

The variety of snacks & drinks really don't justify the increase in price...but what can you do?? The cruise was great!

Does anyone know if you can you bring your own food/drinks, too? Alcohol in particular. LOL It would be fun to have a nice bottle of wine!

So, what changed on the Illuminations cruise as of 10/1?

No, the assortment is provided to suit individual taste, not as a "package"
The driver should not mind allowing a soda or snack here and there, but not to empty out the cooler.

Policy is that NO beverages can be brought on the boat unless provided or purchased on Disney property.
Usually, the drivers will allow drinks purchased at Crews Cup Lounge or Ale and Compass, or even items purchased at the Gift Shops.

The "new" snacks had not arrived until early this week, they are now provided as outlined above.

I doubt the price increase has anything to do with cost or value. It's all about demand.

We split the cost of our cruise (Dec 25, 2002) with another DIS Family while we celebrated DD2 21st B'Day. We all had a great time and it would have been worth twice the price. The kids espcpecially enjoyed the comments we overheard from the bridge above: "hey, how did they get to do that?"

It pays to be on the DIS!

Thanks for the info!! I can work with that! LOL Where can you purchase if you're doing the Wishes cruise?

Well that's crap, I want some money back ;)
It was a nice cruise, very relaxing and such. I would do it again, just not every trip. Can't afford $250 every time! That is what the total came out to be with tax, flat 250.

$250 ! For a boat ride and chips and soda???

I've done this "cruise" folks, it's not worth the money.

I personally can't wait for our cruise. We are doing Wishes instead of Illuminations, but we are very excited. Although I have been to WDW too many times to count and my daughters are know the "Disney" experts, we are going with two families who are newbies. What a wonderful surprise and treat for them!
