Anyone take the fishing excursion?

Thinking about going on the catch and release fishing excursion. Has anyone done it? How much does it cost? Where does it leave from? What time?

I'm sorry I can't really help you with specifics, but just wanted to tell you DH and DS were invited on a fishing excursion in August. This particular excursion was on the Downtown Disney lake, but I think you can also fish by the Contemporary and Epcot. They had such a good time. DH can't wait to do another one - I think this might become a must-do for him!

YES... WE took the fishing excursion from the WL on the 7 Seas Lagoon. It was "Wonderful" and not to be missed. Think it was around $200. for the boat that can hold 4. We stopped counting at 15 fish EACH....what a great morning!!

It is expensive, but it is something we really enjoy. In fact, on our most recent trip we went twice - once from BW and once from WL. The early trip from any of the Epcot resorts goes into World Showcase, so that is cool - great for photo ops. My husband prefers Bay Lake - it's larger and feels more like being out in the open. We have caught lots of fish at both places.

If you only have 2 people do they pair you up or do you get your own boat?

We did this about 10 years ago and had a really good time. We took our boat from the Polynesian. We didn't do too well as far as catching fish. We only got one! If you don't care to spend the money on it, it's a great experience. Personally, I liked spending time on Seven Seas Lagoon.

Yes we do! I am so happy to talk about it! My brother and I grew up on the St. Lawrence and everytime we are together at WDW we fish. It is really fabulous. The fish are hugh bass.
Something we learned over the years is, if you are not good with lures, book a trip on Bay Lake so you can use minnows. If you fish certain areas, it is artificial lures only, not live bait. My husband can fish with lures, I am not that good.
I would highly recommend the lady guides. We have gone 4 times and did better with the ladies! One time, we were fishing right off the Ferry dock at the Magic Kingdom as as a Ferry was pulling in when I landed a big bass and the people on the Ferry clapped for me. It was so great!
As for your questions, your boat is your own, they don't fill it.
Remember.... Bay Lake with minnows and the lady guides!

I see they also offer a kids one hour excursion? Has anyone ever sent their child? Appreciate any info.
