Anyone take an airboat ride?

I was curious if anyone has taken an airboat ride in Kissimmee. I think there are seveal companies that provide this.

What do you recommend?

We took an airboat ride at Boggy Creek. It was one of the highlights of our trip. It is a bit of a drive out there (took about 25-30 minutes) but the boats leave every 1/2 hour.

We also had discount tickets from the Entertainment book that let all four of us ride for about $45. So you might want to check that option out as well.

Go for it. It was a nice break and only took a couple hours out of the day.

We did the West Boggy Creek Airboat Ride last year. Yes, it took ages to get there..it felt more like 45 minutes drive but probably was 30. The owners/operators were very nice; you are given headphones to protect your ears from the noise of the engine. The sensation of skimming atop the water at high speed is quite amazing. We did not see any wildlife except for one lone alligator in the distance but that may have been because it was near sunset.
If you want to experience riding an airboat, go for it..otherwise a bit of a disappointing experience.

I think I'll look more into it. We've been down there so many times, I though we would try something new.

When we went, we saw lots of wildlife, including alligators. The drive said that the best time to go was in the morning, before it got hot. We were on the 10:30 boat I think, but we saw lots of birds, taking off right in front of us, and we were about 20 feet away from an alligator.

We really enjoyed it, but I would try to do the ride in the morning. We went to the one that is closest to 192, not the airport. I don't remember which one it was, the east or west.
