Anyone successfully negotiated a "certified hot price"?

I recently sold a contract and the title company (Magic) messed up my name. Didn’t notice until I was signing.

It all got fixed and we closed on time, but seemed entirely preventable with copy/paste and reading what the sale agent had passed along.
That's on the title co.not the brokerage. You do have a choice of who you want to use .Cammy Smith is the best.

That’s what I said. And when you sell you don’t choose the title company; the buyer does.

I like Mason Title best for buying myself. I’ve used Jordan Jones there three times and she’s been excellent each time (I’m just assuming Jordan is female; could go either way with that name).

It’s not a fixed week and not CCV! The CCV fixed week went for over asking, broker told me she can’t say until it closes, so I doubt I’ll remember to follow up.
That close wasn’t until November if I remember. Market might change by then. Might be a steal, might have overpaid. But for someone it may be perfect and worth the price they paid, being a FW in a resort not in active sale. Also it looks like that week is now going for more points than what that contract was locked in at

There’s one I’ve been watching and it dropped a couple dollars. I thought of trying to offer less, the next screen was protected.

Even if you can negotiate a little, this is one of the places (there's at least two brokers like this) that limit your choices of what title company you can use. One would think that this is done to increase profits or to fix a series of mutually beneficial financial arrangements between companies. I'm just saying that there's a lot of downsides here. Lack of choice as to a title company is simply a deal breaker for me--maybe not for everyone. But if the title company is looking out for the broker and the arrangement between them, I'm pretty sure they aren't 100% looking out for me.

Definitely agree. CCV is at my fav resort but isn’t a good fit for my family of 5. It was more of a SAP+ play for us until kids get older and we could use it for just us, but I didn’t want to be in a bidding war over a FW we really couldn’t use for 10+ years.

I went with Cammy Smith, I trust her title co/work 100%. The broker pretty much told me no matter what I didn’t need to worry about the points disappearing, so I feel comfortable not using Magic.
