Anyone still doing ChaCha?

Since ChaCha made so many changes, I'm curious to know if many are still participating to earn their Disney money?

I used to be able to make some easy money, then so many changes it really turned me off. I've put in a very little amount of time over the past couple of days and am wondering if it's going to be worth it.

Anyone finding success?

Not I. I gave up on it. I was making a lot of money for a while, but gradually they started lowering the pay on all categories, coming up with ridiculous requirements, the weekend bonuses disappeared, they made most queries auto answer or had the expeditors doing them, etc. I had a million categories set and still wasn't hardly getting any queries, and the ones that I did get seemed to only be the sex ones for $.10. I was at the point where I could work for 4 hours and be lucky to make a few dollars, even during peek weekend times. No way is that worth my time. So I just stopped doing it. I deactivated my account b/c I had $95 in there and couldn't get PMM b/c I was short (and it took me nearly 2 months to get that $95!). It took them over 3 weeks to even answer my feedback to cancel my account which IMO is ridiculously long. I was not amused. I ended up getting my last pay-out this month. I wasn't terribly upset to "quit" since I was only using it for a little extra spending money for Disneyland. Who I do feel sorry for is the people who were paying their mortgage and other various bills with it. I can't even imagine how they are dealing with it.

Not me, I signed on late (by the time they'd lowered the pricing to .10-.18 cents) and I was taking 4 hours to hit $5. I still stuck with it with the intent that I couldn't log off until I'd answered at least 50 questions. But then they made changes that routed so much to expeditors and thumbsavers that traffic slowed way down. I started making SO little money I swear I was spending more in electricity having my laptop running than I was making ;) Seriously though, if time is money I was doing better spending the time doing housework and errands than waiting around on my computer for a dime or two.

Not to mention, awful quality. Made me wonder why I tried so hard when it seemed 50% of the answers in history were absolute garbage. Call me weird, but I found it embarrasing. But I guess they get what they pay for -- frankly I don't like being associated with it.

You might try KGB. I gave them a shot and made about $3 an hour but $3 an hour wasn't worth my time.

I'm using swagbucks to earn giftcards now because you can make them just for searching, don't have to buy anything or do surveys. (I only mention this because I used to never visit the rewards board and wouldn't have been aware of swagbucks if someone on the BB hadn't mentioned it.)

The thing that I didn't like about KGB was having to have a specific time to work. ChaCha was nice that you could log on and off whenever you had the time.

FWIW, the short amount of time I've been on (short amount, like 1/2 hour total), the questions do come steady. I also get email high volume alerts since I logged back on and they are having piddly contests (they kind of remind me of Willy Wonka and the factory workings getting a few extra cents if they find the Golden Ticket :rotfl:). They allow a lot more space for answers now, which is good in some ways, but more bad because they want to be able to offer multi-part questions and no more "MORE". High expectations for next to nothing pay.
They announced a new iPhone App, so that could be the reason for the increased volume.

My guess is they lost their best guides.

I'm still an Expeditor for ChaCha. I don't do it often, mainly when watching TV for like an hour or so a night. I make maybe $100-$150 a month. I think it's a big joke though. I CONSTANTLY get dinged for not putting something in the right category that they think it should go into (IMHO, many questions can fall into a couple different categories) and I think they expect too much out of someone who's basically doing the Specialist role for $.03 a question (i.e. reading through 10 PAQ only to see that none of them fit and then having to retype the entire question as the person who sent it mispelled every word or it's in the wrong format). I don't think they've streamlined it as much as it could be but maybe one day it'll run a lot smoother (and we'll get paid $.01 a question).

Oh, and like the PP said, their High Volume Alerts and contests make me laugh too. How about you make it more worth my while than making $1-3 an hour or MAYBE getting the slightest chance to win $5?!

nope. havent done it since all the stupid changes. I'm going to quit it, I think, and am wondering how I get my money that's sitting there. :)

I do ChaCha once in awhile but it has become so not worth the time and effort. Pay continues to be cut, all while traffic is so slow all you do is wait forever to make a dime. It certainly isn't what it used to be.

I'm still an expeditor. The thing is, of course theres plenty to complain about, low traffic volume, lower pay, etc. but the reality is, just while I've been sitting here reading this thread, I've made about $.20. Granted that's not much at all, but it's more than I would have made had I not had it on. :)

It's definately not worth it as a full time or part time job, but as a time killer while I'm sitting here doing nothing anyway, why not?

I never tried chacha but I do KGB. I don't schedule shifts, you should though to guarantee you can work when you want to. Nine times out of ten, the system lets me log in and out whenever I want to. Only twice in the last month did it say, "We have enough people right now" and wouldn't log in. So, if I wanted to, I could just schedule a shift for 5 minutes from now. You only have to work 8 hours a month which I think is great.

I just do it whenever I have time. My goal is an hour a day. At $2 an hour, that's $60 a month of basically free money. I am not going to turn that down for putting in an hour while I am watching tv!

Wow! I didn't know that was even a possible option. Thanks. I may look into KGB more seriously. My big hang up was shift scheduling.

I'm with you, I don't expect to make a living doing this stuff. It's just a few extra bucks. Sure wish ChaCha was like the old days though, those few bucks came about much quicker :)

I wonder about this too. I also haven't logged in for a long time. It went from something to log into for a little bit of time to earn a few bucks to sitting there for hours hoping to make a dollar.

When they deactivate your account, they have 60 days to pay you. In my instance, it was about 30. Since I had it set up to pay me monthly, it was deposited directly into my checking account just like when I was working. I believe when you have the debit card through FIB, you get a check sent to you.

Oh heck no. . .not after the changes and big slowdown in traffic that occurred in November 2008. . .up to that point I had made $750 (in only 2 months) for my December 2008 Disney trip and I was happy with that. But no way am I working for 10 cents or less a question. My time is too valuable.

Yeah..I hate to schedule shifts. Mostly because I am a VERY bad person because I like to log in and scope out how busy it is, and if it's dead..I immediately log back out. If it's busy, I stick around for a while till it slows down/ I get bored. Like just now, I have insomnia so I logged in and there were only 2 questions in the queue, neither of which I wanted to take..so I logged right back out. I knew I could have stuck around a bit because more would pop up but eh... I will try again tomorrow. :thumbsup2

I did it for a while, but I stopped a long time ago (when they first started changing the pay scales and such). The last time I signed in, I was logged in for three hours and got ONE question.

I can't even ASK questions anymore for some reason. No matter what, whenever I send in a question, I get a "you're out of questions" response. Even if I haven't asked anything in two weeks. I didn't know you could deactivate and get paid whatever's left in your account. That's nice to know, since I have about $60 in there that I haven't been able to access because I can't get any stupid questions.

I imagine with the amount of PAQ answers Expeditors send, all of the quick answers Expeditors send (weather, movies, news, horoscopes, etc.), and with Expeditors getting bad feedback for sending too many questions to Specialists, that Specialists don't receive very many questions, especially as many as before.

I know! I don't get it either because I can't ask questions. I think there's now a limit of 20 questions a month that you can ask but I haven't asked anything in over 2 months and I sent a question in the other day and it said I was out of questions :confused3.

I worked for ChaCha and then KGB and now I'm back at ChaCha. I don't know if it's because I started with ChaCha but I like the layout better. I think it (KGB) would be nicer as a Specialist though because you can see the question before you accept it.

is anyone else having trouble logging into chacha? the login page won't even come up. i get a firefox "the connection was reset" page. can't log into the forum or underground either.

anyone? i'm in a panic here-i've got almost $200 sitting in my guide account!
