We are arriving on Saturday, 8/2 and staying in the Main Building Club Level at Grand Floridian.
We have been told this will be the first day grand opening of the newly renovated rooms and club level.
If anyone has stayed recently I would love some info on the lounge, etc...
Is the resort still in excellent condition?
Thanks in advance.
You guys have great insights!

Well, since you will be there on opening day I am looking forward to YOUR report:goodvibes

I did stay there Nov '13, in a deluxe king. We loved the building and ambiance but the furnishings seemed dated to us. After seeing the pics of the rooms and CL lounge at SL I think it will look great. I am booked in a deluxe king on 8/13 so if you get a chance post on the grand thread for us curious peeps.

We stayed SL in september 2013 and more recently we stayed RPC the first week of June for 8 nights and in may for a long weekend. We loved it, the cms were very helpful. In my opinion more so then any of the other club level cms and we've stayed several times at each club level except bwi and wl. Obviously the rooms had not been renovated when we were there. Our room was great, the location perfect. We didn't utilize the lounge offerings all that much but we did have a glass of champagne or two each evening and enjoyed the breakfast offerings each morning. fresh flowers were even placed in our room almost every day of our trip in June.

The club level offerings at all the resorts have become less and less over the years but the grand floridian's are more plentiful then most others.

The resort was still in excellent condition based on what we saw and that was right before the renovation so I'd imagine it will look even better for your trip. We love the pools and our son had a great time with the activities at the beach pool as well as playing around the courtyard pool at night.

If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to try and answer them but overall I have nothing to complain about. I'm sure you'll have a great time :)

I haven't stayed at the GF since the refurbs, but wanted to say you are going to love RPC. The food offerings are great, the lounge is large and spacious with gorgeous views of the grounds, and the CL CMs are amazing. It's very relaxing to sit in the lounge taking in the beautiful surroundings and listening to the band play from down below in the lobby. Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the GF :wizard:.

The newly renovated rooms in the Main Building Club Level are beautiful. Great new beds, updated look, much more storage, hardwood entry. Amazing.
Club level food offerings seem more extensive at breakfast.
The ONLY thing that stinks was the new Fast Pass policies at Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Early Magic Hours the last 2 days at 8am. At park opening on Tuesday NO Fast Passes available all day for Soarin' or Test Track! Today at AK at park opening NO fast passes available for Kali River Rapids or Everest.
We thankfully planned in advance 60 days out, but no fast pass availability all day at park opening is absurd.
On our Magic Kingdom days the new system works great. We have our 3 fast passes scheduled early and we have been able to get another 3 with no wait times.
One hint, better book a Mine Train fast pass as far out as you can. Waits have been 110+ and NO fast pass availability by noon.

Would also love to hear more about this. They have rooms available with a military discount so I am leaning towards this resort. How are the views from the room? Anyone with pictures? Thanks

So how was your stay in the deluxe King, Trish? I just booked the same for a big anniversary this June. Thanks for your review.

Last year was a crazy year. I stayed at both SL and RPC. The food is amazing!!!

That was my 2nd Rpc stay and the lounge is so relaxing. So much space:cloud9:

I had an issue with my room however. For delixe King you either get one of the 6 octagon rooms that don't have a balcony OR one of 9 rooms that are the same size as a regular room but have a jetted tub and MK view. They are all on the 2nd floor.

It is a bit inconvenient to get to and from the lounge from here but it is more convenient to get to bus/Gaspies and pools from here. The elevator goes right near GGG entrance.

My problem was our room 4201. It has a tree blocking it. (Pics below)The bellhop literally said" to see MK take the elevator down and see it from in front of GGG". So my MKV room requires leaving my room???

So request not 4201!!! I also posted nice room pics of that room too. It was lovely.

Gf made it right in the end but I was disappointed.

Out of the 2 I still like the octogaon rooms better but any room 4202-09 would have a nice view of the marina and castle.

Trish

Ps tea time is the best!!! Make sure to catch it:)

Any specific Q'S let me know or post on gf. There are lots of peeps over there that love RPC.

Thank you, Trish.....great info and nice pictures---that's very helpful----I will not have 4201!! Have a magical day.

:thumbsup2 nice pics! But  how can they call that an MK view :rotfl: Ya had a great view of Sago & SL though ;)
We had a Deluxe Queen room. They are huge, we had a view of Courtyard pool with balcony. On 3rd floor. Sounds like they are larger then the king rooms.

Wow! That must have been a bit disappointing all right! We are staying in a deluxe King room later this month and I would be unhappy also to get 4201 with a 'tree' view. That looks like a standard view to me.

It is our 45th anniversary so we planned a lot of resort time with leisurely cups of coffee on our balcony. Unfortunately, the only view we were able to book RPC was the deluxe king. I really wanted TPV. How would you suggest that we request the 4202 - 4209 rooms? Request a TPV, balcony or the room range? Would you call IPO or WDW reservations? I know that neither of these assigns rooms. Is there a way to speak to the room assigner?

Thank you for your great pics, information, and help!

I usually email ipo with my requests. I would put "TPV, rooms 4202-4209 is my first choice". Also let them know your occasion.

You can call IPO but I prefer to see them respond in writing that my "request is noted on my file"

I don't have the pics in this batch but honestly we loved the octagon room(me and dh). It is so large in person. Even though there isn't a balcony there are so, so many windows (that actually open) you don't mind. I just pulled a chair up to my open window and enjoyed:cloud9:

I would go back in a heartbeat to any but 4201!

Also I have always been a balcony person but dh and I had a regular king room before deluxe due to availability. I didn't use my balcony. I would sit in the lounge at the table for 2 and look out the windows. We also went up to the 5th floor to those tables. Hearing the music and watching the traffic below was such a treat.

You will love RPC and I hope you get a great room with a wonderful view of the castleprincess:
