Has anyone here stayed at this hotel? And is it as good as it sounds? I got this one at priceline.com when bidding for a 3star or better hotel room--just would like some feedback--we are on our way back to FL for the 3rd time this year. :pinkbounc

We will be staying there the end of the month. When are you going?? We saw the hotel on our trip to Orlando in April and it is very clean on the outside. Property takes up almost a whole block.

HI! Bet we will be there at the same time! We are going Memorial Week...Arriving the 28th--when are you going? This year we are only planning on going to MK and then we are going to go do Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure also...my dh has been begging to go there!~

HI there

We've stayed at the Wyndham Orlando two times now, both on priceline bids.
It is a very nice place.
The staff is friendly and accomodating, they keep the rooms and common areas up very nicely.
The pools are sparkling clean and they have a nice pool side restaurant/bar. There is also a Haagen-Daaz ice cream shoppe poolside!
Last time we were there, we spent the day lounging at the pool...it was August and extremely HOT of course, and they had a staff member handing out frozen washcloths to cool off with. nice touch, huh? (esp. when we'd only paid $20 out of pocket for the room!)
;)

The hotel setup/rooms reminds me a lot of a Disney moderate.
We've been very happy with our stays there and I'm sure you will too.
Have fun!

I just got back and have some suggestions to make your stay more pleasant. First, join the Wyndham by Request program and call in your number. There was a care package of bottled water, Coke and dried fruit and nuts in my room. I assume they only leave these for program members. If you drive, I heard the rooms in the back are newer and nicer.

If you rely on buses, ask for a room in the front to save 5-10 minutes of walking to the bus stop. I used their free transportation to Seaworld and Universal. The shuttle ran on a limited schedule but the buses and drivers were great.

I was charged a "resort fee" of around $4 a day which I did not expect. At $18/night through Priceline plus the resort fee, this hotel was an amazing value. I was impressed with all of the staff I met on my trip and would certainly return.

Hey thanks for the replies guys!!! We got this one on priceline also--gotta love priceline!!! However, you all got better deals than me!lol-still not gonna complain, as we got it for $30 a night...I laughed when I saw that they had a pop up at priceline stating I most likely owuld not get my bid, then we got it! I just love a baragin. I was wondering-How do I sign up for the Wyndam by Request program? And is there any hope of getting a kidsuite if I call and beg? I noticed that the prices of both a normal room and the suites are the same on their website--was thinking about asking about it. We have stayed at the PO at WDW so I am guessing this is similiar since it has been compared to a moderate room at Disney? I can't wait-this is a spur of the moment trip for us, and one that we really need! Thanks for the advice and if you have any more please let me know!

You can sign up for the Wyndham by Request club at

(hope that's right)

By all means, ask for a kids suite--the worst thing that can happen is that they say 'no'
;)

Last time we went, I asked at check in and the girl said, sure, I can put you up in a kids suite but I can't get you into the room until about 4pm. This was at 10am. (we were only booked for one night) I said thanks anyway and we took a room that was ready at that time.

Good luck and have a great time

Shannon, I went and joined--and sent an email requesting a kidsuite..I am also going to call and make the request. It would be so wonderful to get one since the little ones love their own space...Keep your fingers crossed! Oh---and did you get the kidsuite on one of your priceline bids visits??? Did you ask at check in or before? Thanks for all the input!!! :earsboy:

I only asked at check-in because I didn't even realize they had them! When I was standing in line to check-in, I was reading some of their literature and saw the kidsuite info.

I had a very friendly check-in girl, so I just asked if there was any possible way to get the kidsuite (I expected her to quote me a figure to upgrade....yes, this was a priceline bid)
That's when she checked the puter and simply said, sure, but it wouldn't be ready until later in the day.
As I mentioned, we were there for only the one night and we were eager to get settled in so I just opted for a room that was ready.

Good luck, hope it goes well for you

We will be there the weekend before memorial day. That Friday the 25th through the 27th. We will just miss each other 3kidsmommy!!!I joined the Wyndham by request right after I made the ressies a few months ago.I did not know about the kidsuites though and will try to get one when I call the hotel directly this week to make sure they have the WBR info.We have a three year old and that would be great for her to have her own space.

Just got back 4 days ago from the Wyndham on I-Drive. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. They had fabulous service, and great accomodations! We are also Wyndham by Request members, and got a nice bottle of wine with some cheese, crackers and fruit on our arrival day. The pool and the poolside bar/restuarant is great, be sure to try the chicken quesadillas! I have to agree that if you are renting a car, to try to request a room close to the pool, otherwise if you need to use public transportation, a room up front by the lobby is best. This resort is huge! It reminds me of a "Key West" kind of place - very colorful and caribbean-like. I can hear Jimmy Buffet playing in the background now........

Two thumbs up for this resort - we will definitely be staying here again!

Thanks for the reminder to sign up for Wyndam by Request. I almost forgot before our upcoming trip.
