Has anyone stayed at the Nick Hotel? How was it? How expensive was the food there?
I know a big draw of the place is the pools and water slides. Are there other things to do there if it rains?

We will be in Orlando for 2+ days in late August. My DW doesn't want to go to WDW because she thinks it would be too hot. We were thinking of going to the Nick Hotel. Any opinions?

The general consensus is that kids love it, parents --- not so much.

Most of the families I know take their kids there as a treat for them and stay a night or 2 at the most.

If you do go, you are wise to just do the fun stuff there and not try to do a theme park as well.

We have been the past 4 years and we stay a week. I know CRAZY but my kids love it so much. we plan at least 2 non park days for the pools and stuff. But i find there is always something to do! the arcade, they have 4d movies, the shows, the mall area to just sit and chill.
The food places like the Uno i found higher priced then a regular uno. sunway seemed a better deal or closer to the price offsite.
we go for the kids like pp said kids love it parents .... iffy! we have always had a great experience , things have always been clean staff always helpful and great.

Sitting in our room right now.....

We spent 5 nights at BLT, so compared to that it doesn't even come close!

But the kids have had a great time at the pool and enjoyed the character breakfast this morning/

Pretty much what others have said- kids will love it but it is about a 2 star hotel in terms of cleanliness, age, etc. Sheets are scratchy, floor/couch kinda yucky, bed is ok, tv quality looks like the clarity of about 10 years ago.

I will say that all the staff have been super friendly and really seem to go out of there way to be polite.

Pool is EXTREMELY crowded mid day and a lot of issues with unsupervised kids just being extrmely rowdy. Lifeguards do the best they can but with it being so packed there is only so much they can do at times.

Food court ok, pizza is horrible but they do have subway (with somewhat normal prices) and the grill is good if you can get it fresh (good fries!).
