hi,not at maingate but in sarasota and i was surprised at how good they were for the orice. clean, coffee maker and hair dryer. i know they are franchises but they must have to maintain some standards. hope this maybe of some help.
I've also stayed at one while on the road in another state. However, I used to think the same was true for "chain hotels". Only to find that doesn't seem true. I have found Holiday Inn's I'd rank as no better then 1.5* and then some I'd rank as high as a 4*. Same is true for Day's Inn, Travelodge, and Quality Inn.
Which one is it the Maingate East (near Old Town) or the Maingate West?
I checked TripAdvisor and the reviews are quite good for a budget motel. I have stayed at them in California and would compare them to an EconoLodge.
I am also considering the Maingate East Motel 6 for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip.
Ewwww! Consider using Priceline for your one night. You'll be able to get a much nicer hotel for about the same price. Check www.biddingfortravel.com for more information on how to bid of Priceline.
