Hi!

DH and I are taking the kids on a "last minute" trip to the World for Thanksgiving and using our Marriott points to get a "free" suite at the SpringHill Suites in the Marriott Village. We were loyal on-site people, but this was too good to pass up!

Here's my question - can you walk to DTD from these hotels? - I know it's about a mile and the distance isn't an issue, I just wasn't sure if there were sidewalks and safe street crossings? We will have a car, but may be planning on having a bottle of wine with our Thanksgiving dinner at the Flying Fish Cafe and hoping to take a Disney bus to DTD from the Boardwalk and hoof it the rest of the way. What do you think?

It is a very busy street to walk on and a very, very long walk. I wouldn't suggest it. I was just there in May.
The hotel is perfect, clean and close enough. We had a car so it made it easy. Let me know if you have any more questions

Thanks Disney Chick 2!

Were you in the SpringHill Suites too? We're really looking forward to it! Just wondered if it was doable and it doesn't really sound like it. How was the cont. breakfast? Did you drive to all the parks or ever use the shuttle? Thanks again for your help!

I did stay at the SpringHill suites. The breakfast is ok and free. the oatmeal was great. You can even take it back to your room. Take a few extras for late night snacks, just bring some ziplocks with you. I never used the shuttle so I don't have any stories for you there. I did visit the food court in the village and it was clean, I just had ice cream, but kids were hanging out there and seemed happy. I also felt safe there and I was alone on conference, very important to me.
Have fun!! I'm trying to go back the 1st week of December

I forgot the most important great thing about the village... Premier outlet mall right around the corner!!:jester: :jester:

We stayed here in April 2003. The hotel is new and clean. We didn't swim because it was freezing outside. I can't imagine walking to Downtown Disney. If you have been in the area before, it is on the other side of I-4 from Downtown Disney. There are many restaurants that are within walking distance including, Bahama Breeze and I think Tom Landry's steakhouse.

The breakfast was okay for being free. There weren't a lot of hot choices, but we aren't very big breakfast eaters anyway.

It is not a bad choice. We also stayed here on Marriott's reward points for free, and would go back.

Thanks 3MGirls! I got a closer view of the map and now I see that highway inthe middle! LOL I'm sure we won't be walking!

Glad to hear it's nice (enough) and clean. Can't beat a free breakfast! We won't be sitting down to eat it - we're on the go kind of people, so I don't mind that it won't be hot.

This is our first off-site stay and I'm just trying to figure out all of the details.

Thanks again!
