This hotel used to be the Courtyard by Marriott but is now the Holiday Inn and it is situated outside by Downtown Disney.

Just wondering if you've ever stayed here and what is your thoughts on the place?

TIA

Hotel is closed until mid 2005. Renovation and hurricane damage repair.

I stayed there back in November 2001 when it was a Courtyard. I believe they're renovating the entire hotel and it should open this spring.

Our room was clean, if not a little worn, and the bed wasn't that comfortable - however, I would imagine the renovations will fix these issues.

Location was great - hotel was nice and clean, staff extremely friendly and helpful, and the scheduled free bus service was great. We had the breakfast buffet each morning and it was good with a reasonable price.

Again - once the renovations are done, this should make the Holiday Inn much nicer.

Hope this helps!

We also stayed there when it was the Courtyard. We arrived a day early (drove straight though instead of spending the night in Savannah as planned) so we only were there for one night, but the room was large and clean. Inquired at the front desk about various things and were given great and pleasent service. Once they are done renovating should be a really nice place.

We stayed there in 2000. We were lucky to have one of the oversized rooms on the wing overlooking the pool. We had three adults, a three year old, and a one year old in a portable crib and still had lots of room. It was an easy walk to DTD and very convenient to offsite restaurants.

We only had one complaint... on the morning of checkout my husband went out to our 6 week old Windstar and saw that all of the hubcaps had been stolen. The management was not very helpful at all and it was not a pleasant experience. The police came to file a report and said that theft was common at the DTD hotels. We have stayed near there at the Hotel Royal Plaza since and did not have any problems with theft. (I think it was just a chance occurence.) We have bought two new vans since and we always joke that thank goodness they have alloy wheels that can't be stolen at WDW.

Its been a few years, but enjoyed the stay. We requested and received a groundfloor poolside room which was great. The restaurant was family style and resonably priced.

Last month we had ressies here but they had to canx due to the hurricane damage. We stayed nearby and had a chance to drive by the hotel. They still had windows and patio doors boarded over from the damage. (Some rooms didnt have windows or boards on them) It was sad the damage it did receive.

Once renovated the hotel should be fantasic

We stayed here when it was the Courtyard Marriott in Feb. 03. We loved it! The bus service was great, our hotel was picked up 2nd in the morning (after the Hilton) so there were still plenty of seats, and we were dropped off 2nd in the evening, which was nice after a long day :)
The room was great, nice and big, and the staff was very helpful. I wanted to stay there on my upcoming trip in May, but it'll still be closed for renovations :( DH and I were just talking tonight about what a great place that was to stay :)
