Anyone stayed at Atlantis, Turks & Caicos, anywhere in the Caribbean using points?

Has anyone every stayed at Atlantis using points? Is it difficult to get reservations there? DH just suggested this so I haven't really looked into it, I figured this would be a good place to start.

How about Turks & Caicos? We'd love to go somewhere in the Caribbean using points if possible.

Atlantis is an II timeshare exchange. It's been done but I only recall a couple of exchanges in the last couple of years, all 1 BR units. Even starwood owners have problems getting in there. You may want to request it but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I am an owner of a fixed week at Atlantis Harborside, and am currenlty having difficulty reserving a different week myself. It is very HIGH DEMAND. I have seen the suggestion before and may follow it myself - rent your own timeshare and pay for your Atlantis stay from the proceeds. I have stayed on Turks and Caicos many times, though not timeshare/points. We always stay at the Ocean Club on Providenciales. It is still to this day my favorite place on earth. Though I know it's getting all built up like the other Islands.....

I have stayed at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis. It was amazing. Tons to do and all top notch. It is hard getting in so plan ahead and keep your fingers crossed!

We got HAR this past April thru DVC; had stayed at Atlantis twice before. This was our first experience in the villas and it was very nice. Our request came through only a few weeks prior to check-in, so we were lucky to find flights. It is a hard exchange to get; I'm guessing in our case, someone had to cancel at the last minute.

We just booked our week for next August. I will be waitint for September to come around to book May.....hopefully.

When it comes to getting an exchange at Atlantis, more then likely it will be last minute. Personally, I prefer to have my reservations set at least 6 months in advance.

I haven't seen or heard of too much trading for Turks and Caicos Resorts. There is only one resort, Alexandra Resort, that trades in II. But it is on the DVC list of possible exchanges.

St Martin, Aruba, Cancun, Puerto Rico and Dominican Replublic are all probably doable. But not sure how many of them are worth the points.

We looked into the Atlantis for DD's honeymoon next July, but MS said it is the hardest place to trade into, with Hawaii the most popular area. They did say we could try closer to the date, but DD didn't want to chance it, so we got them a 1 bdrm. in Cabo.

Smart move.....Getting a July week at Atlantis via II is not going to happen.
