We've got reservations at AS Music for October. Has anyone stayed there recently? How are the pools? Are the rooms nice? Anything you can share about it would be great! I'm so excited, we got an awesome active duty military rate, better than we could have gotten anywhere offsite!! I just don't know anything about the hotel other than what I've been reading online, so if anyone has any personal experiences, I'd appreciate it!!! :)

Hi
We stayed at All Stars Music in June 2000. I know that is not recent, but I wanted to let you know that is was great!!!! We really enjoyed staying there. In all honesty, we were not at the resort a lot because it was our first trip to WDW in a long time and we spent most of our time in the parks. We did take several different days to swim in each of the pools. We loved both of the pools, there is a main pool and a smaller, more quiet pool shaped like a piano. Everything was clean and well kept, and the food court definitley served our needs while we were there. We mostly would drop by the food court for breakfast on the way out to the parks. We had dinner at the food court one night and it was good. It is your standard food court type food.
Housekeeping did a great job, never a problem there. The room is a little on the small side, but it did not stop us from enjoying ASMu. I did not have any problems with ASMu, and we intend to stay at All Stars again, maybe Movies for a change of pace.
Good Luck, I hope you have a magical vacation!!!!:D

I forgot to mention that we used the Disney transportation for the entire trip without any problems, we never waited longer that 15 minutes for a bus at the resort.
My son is sitting here telling me how much he loved All Stars, and that he wants to go back.

ITA with disnaholic's comments, and my most recent trip was this past March. My only question is how many people are in your group? I think there's room enough - pretty much - for two adults, but a family is IMO pushing it for comfort. YMMV.

It's my husband and I, and our son who will be 2 at that time. :) We don't need alot of room, as we will be outside of the room most of the time we are there, and DS sleeps with us anyway, so it's no big deal if it's not that huge of a place. Honestly for under 60 bucks a night, I'm not expecting anything absolutely HUGE! ;)

We were there in Feb. 03 and we loved it. The rooms weren't too small for us, we were only 2 adults and 1 child. We had lots of floor space and the mousekeeping was wonderful.
Originally we were assigned a JAZZ non-smoking building (both adults are smokers) and told to smoke outside the room. We thought that would be ok and went to our room. When we got there we thought the room was ok but we felt uncomfortable smoking outside our ground floor room. We went back to the check in area and explained that we felt that we were infringing on the rights of those non - smoking guests and asked if there was perhaps a different room, in a smoking building or closer to smoking rooms if we couldn't actually have a smoking optional room. We were very pleasant with the CM as she tried to help us and after all of the searching she upgraded us to a preferred building smoking optional room.
We were in The Calypso building, ground floor right across from the Three Calbellaros pool.
We had a little snag with the sink- it was leaking and they sent a plumber/maintenance CM out right away and we didn't have problems with it for our entire week stay.
The CM's were wonderful in every part of the resort. We enjoyed our morning meals at the resort food court. We used Disney Transportation for our entire trip with no long waiting times (other than one night returning from MK after FITS- but we expected that wait).
Overall the service we received is what made us ASR fans. My DS(5 at the time) used the pool everyday. If you have any other questions about our experience you can always PM me.. I'm sure that if this post gets any longer I'll be booted off these forums for crashing the system or some such.
You should have a great time. Happy planning!

How are the food court prices? Pretty reasonable? We have PS for Donalds Breakfastsaurus one morning we are there, but the rest of our breakfasts will either be in our room or at the food court. :)

In this case, I think you should be fine. :) Have a great trip!!!

I have stayed at All Stars Music twice. The most recent visit was late June 2003. We have stayed in the Country Fair Building and the Jazz Building. This place is perfect for small kids. They love the theming. The rooms are nice. Yes they are a little on the small side but you will not be in them much. They are certainly adequate and comfortable. The pools are great as far as looks and theme. I have not had the luxury of using them. We went to the parks and never took time to use the pools. They looked great and many many kids were having a ball in the pools. With a two year old I suspect that you may not use the pool too much. Bus transportation was rarely slow but it does occur. The busier the parks are, the worse this is of course. At it's worst it has never been so bad I would complain. A good mental outlook (it is your vacation after all) is important when dealing with this situation or any situation where large crowds of people are involved. The food court is noisy and lively. It has a good menu that includes (usually 6-8 items) prepared meals by the kitchen and delivery or pick up pizza. The court also includes a grab and go area of coolers with drinks and salads as well as deserts. There is a bakery. The drink section is out in the middle of the eating area. Should you bring a cooler with drinks and snacks to keep inthe room? Yes. You may save a little this way but I found that we spent so much time away from the room that the cost savings were minimal. The ride time to the room was about 20 minutes from the Magic Kingdom ( I feel that is where you will spend most of your time due to the age of your child) not including the time spent waiting for the bus. A trip back to the room for a meal was not something that we really wnated to do. With a two year old you may have to go back for a nap. In that case lunch may be a savings if you take a cooler in the room. There are a great deal of things that you can take with you for breakfast items that will save some cash. Had a great time both trips to All Stars Music and I am sure that you will enjoy it.
