Hello Everybody! I have been brain storming, trying to make the best out of our Disney cruise and I had a thought come to mind. Has anyone stayed at one of the Disney Reosrts the night before they get on the ship? I have booked a room at the Radisson but thought this may be a FUN idea for us to try. Has anybody tried this before? I thought if we did this we could get out of renting a car because then we could get the Disney transfer I think anyway. Would they pick us up at airport? Does this sound like an okay idea or should we just stick with renting a car at MCo and driving to the port and staying the night at the Radisson and then renting yet another car to drive back to MCO to fly back home? :earsboy: Any input would be greatly appreciated! TIA

We are flying in on Thursday (late) and staying at Coronado Springs Thursday and Friday night before the cruise. We are doing a van through happy limo to get to port, but as I understand it you can catch the DCL tranportation at WDW. Sorry- I'm not sure of the exact details. Depending on what time your flight arrives the day before - WDW would be nice, but if all you are going to do is sleep, why spend the money?

Our last cruise we got in about 7pm and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn right there at the airport. Their shuttle picked us up that evening and delivered us back to the airport in the morning to catch the DCL bus. No need to rent a car and drive to port.

:earsboy: OUr flight gets to MCO at 2:30...if i remember right. Would this be a waste, we really had no plans to go inside the park...I guess just "nosey" around the resort grounds, is that allowed? pirate: Our DD is 2, well 3 when we go on vaction and she still naps. I just thought it would be nice. Oh well I am still undecided. Keep your ideas and experiences coming :earsgirl:

We are coming in Thursday afternoon prior to our 7 day Eastern cruise and staying at BWV. We will take the Magical Express to the resort and then rent a car on Friday afternoon and use it to take us to the Port on Saturday morning (droping off at Port Canaveral location). We will then pick up another car after cruise and go back to WDW for Sat. night and leave to return home on Sunday evening taking the Magical Express back to the airport.

We really like a little dose of WDW before the cruise and then get a little more before we return home.

we stayed at cor springs last year, had an email coup for $79 a night. ended up staying more than we wanted due to hurr frances, but i think it is a lot of fun and you can enjoy the resort, pools and such.

we had planned to stay at cocoa beach, but it was evaced, but we plan to do that again. if you are in your own vehicle, you can find a hotel with free parking and shuttle to the terminal.

We arrived late (very late) the Friday night before the cruise. Since all we did was use the hotel for a bed and shower we stayed near the airport (Crowne Plaza Orlando Airport scored on Priceline for $58 inclusive of tax and fees) and then took their free airport shuttle back to the airport and got dropped off right by the DCL buses to head to port.

We did, however, end out trip by delaying reality at the WL saturday evening. This was incredible easy since we DCL transfers dropped us right at the WL front door. We thought this was a great way to end the trip since the cruise seems to end so abruptly. Our flight home was late Sunday.

We have lucked out by cruising in the fall & have gotten the ASMo for 55 a night including tax. I couldn't find a non Disney hotel for that or a room at the port. This time we are not going to WDW until after the cruise so we opted for the Radisson. It will be nice not to have to do the hour drive to the port. With kids, you could make the day of it at DTD and one of the AS resorts just spending the day there.

We stayed at the All Star Sports the night before. All did not go as planned though. We got in late to the airport so by time we got to the hotel it was 8:00pm. We rented a car because we didn't want to wait for the transportation to port because it left too late and we wanted to be able to make all necessary reservations. Unless you are getting in early the day before I would stay near the airport or port. Just my opinion after this last trip.
