We have a good offer for a two bedroom at this resort. We like the location but have several questions. Is the WIFI good? I have heard conflicting reveiws. Also, was the resort clean and amenities good. We will be at the parks most of the time but we are staying for two weeks and don't want to be miserable. It is a prepay with no refund through GETGO.

THanks

We stayed there last November. We paid for a week of the Wifi. We didn't have problems with it.
I liked the timeshare. It was very clean and quiet. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. They also provide a mid week mini clean up where someone comes in and makes your bed (with existing sheets) and leaves clean towels.
I would stay there again, it was quite nice.

Thanks for the info. Were you in a two bedroom? What was the overall resort like for pools etc?

We were there for New Year's. We had a one bedroom on the 3rd floor. Everything was nice. Very clean. It was too cold to swim; however, we could see the pool from our screened in balcany. A timeshare presentation was offered but we did not participate. No high pressure. Have a great trip!

We did have a two bedroom. It was very roomy. We were on the 4th floor of the building nearest the game room. We didn't use the pool but it looked very nice. The property is well kept up. We didn't take a time share and there was no pressure to take one.

We've stayed there 3 times: once in February '05 (2BR lock-off = 1BR Deluxe + 1BR Standard), then in mid-December '07 (2BR) and most recently, in mid-March '08 (2BR). Obviously, we like the place. :thumbsup2

Convenience:
It's compact (so easy to walk to all amenities from any room), well-managed and well-maintained. Convenient to walk to several family restuarants, a 24-hr CVS pharmacy and many tourist shops. But since it's set back a half-block from Rte 192, it's also quiet and restful. It's under a mile east to reach Publix or a mile north to reach SuperWalMart. About 5-10 minutes drive to the 192/World Drive junction, then 5-10 minutes to reach the parking lots for the Disney theme parks.

Rooms:
The rooms are spacious and quite comfortable for a larger family. They started re-doing the rooms last summer and they ought to be about 2/3 done by now. The newly refurbished rooms are really pretty, IMO, and we loved the flat screen tv in the LR. The 1BR standard (smaller side) is okay for 2 people but would be tight with more - mini-sized appliances though they're all there, along a wall of the LR, which has one sofabed and a little dinette for 4, and the bathroom is a regular hotel-style bath. OTOH, the 1BR Deluxe (larger side of lock-offs) and 2BRs all have very large rooms, full-sized kitchen, dining table for 6 plus 2 at the counter, jacuzzi tub and separate shower in the MBR suite, and a nice screened balcony w/seating. All units (1BR, 1BR Deluxe and 2BR) have a stacked washer/dryer in a closet (so the 2BR lock-offs actually have 2 of them, one on each side).

Resort Amenities:
There are two pool areas w/hot tubs (no kiddie pools) and gas grills/picnic areas near each. We've always been there during cooler seasons. When we've asked them to increase the heat of the hot tubs, they've always accommodated immediately. The same heater maintains the adjacent pool temperature. Consequently, we've enjoyed very nicely heated pools on our visits - warm enough for our teens and for me - and that's saying a lot, because I'm a cool-water wimp. ;) There's a nicely shaded playground and pretty landscaping throughout. The recreation building at one end of the resort has a fitness center, organized activities, small game/arcade room and free coffees and popcorn.

Computer Access:
The check-in building at the other end of the resort has concierge services and an "owners lounge" w/big screen tv, sofas and a mac computer that registered guests may use for 30 minute intervals (they ask that you sign up for time slots). Since the lobby has a few sofas (and coffees, btw), if you have any trouble with WiFi reception, you ought to be able to get online at the lobby easily. We've found that the WiFi at some resorts is tricky. You have to find the "sweet spot" within the condos... usually on or near the balcony is the best place, but sometimes nearer the condo's front door, or at the kitchen's eating counter. We didn't use the WiFi here, opting to check email in the owners' lounge - and that worked fine for us.

Btw, all of these staff were friendly and helpful on every one of our visits. That always helps a trip go smoothly. :) HTH.

I know a person that sells timeshare weeks for $349.99 for the week and I know she has 2 bdrm. units at the Cypress Palms available right now as well. You might want to try contacting her to see if she has your same dates available because shes probably even cheaper than what your looking at.

She sells on Ebay and so you can search there for user id Get-a-Vacation or if you search for Grand Beach Orlando you will find a different listing and then can contact the seller from there.

I've been working with her to get my resort in Orlando because she has lots of availability.

Thanks so much for all the information. I think we are going to book. We can get a two bedroom for $329./week with the Government Employee Travel. We need two weeks and they have both weeks available. I think that we will enjoy this resort. It is in the perfect location for us and the price is most certainly right.

I'm glad I found this. We booked for November for 329/week through AFVC (Armed Forces Vacation Club). Booked it sight unseen. Looks like it may have been a good decision. After lots of trips on site, I just looked at the BC rates and it was over $500/night :scared1: !

Beside, with the rates at Universal, we'll probably spend as much time there as at Disney! Haven't been to Universal since 2004.

We are also going in November 9-23. It is a surprise trip for DH.

I agree with others who have stayed there. Its nothing fancy, not alot of bells and whistles but very clean and friendly employees. Nice sized units, basic pools with activities. I wouldnt mind staying there again

FWIT I just got back from staying there.

We had a one bedroom, about the smallest one bedroom I have ever stayed in. I did see a two bedroom and it was much nicer. Our wifi never did work, which I am paying for now with my work load @@.

Our room was very pretty. We did ask for a toaster and it was never delivered. Our mini fridge didn't work when we checked in, they brought us a new one.

Bathroom was older and just okay.

I hated that the elevators were at the end of the hall and not in the middle. I have a bad foot and had to either walk up to the 4th floor or go all the way to the opposite end of the hall to take the elevator, then walk back to the end where the pool was.

I didn't like that they didn't have any kind of food service at the pools. I guess most vacation clubs we stay at usually do. I also though the activities were kind of lame compared to the other Wyndam resorts.

We had planned on going to Celebration on Saturday for dinner and Sunday for their Disney liquidation sale anyway and it was super close to it.

This was a last minute add on, so it was fine. I wouldn't book it if I didn't have to. I do have to say that for an older resort it seemed well maintained and staff was nice enough.
We had also just checked out of the HGVC near Sea World and it was beautiful, so I guess this was a let down after that.

This is such an issue at this resort. There are 2 different kinds of units here.

There's the 1BR (standard), which you had - absolutely tiny, with mini-sized appliances lining a wall of the den/LR and a tiny dinette for 4, LR sleeper sofa is the only LR furniture. When you pull out the sleeper sofa, there's practically no room left! No balcony/patio (windows face front entry), no jacuzzi tub, just a clean, decent room for a couple to sleep in if you won't need anyone to sleep in the LR.

Then there's the huge 1BR or 2BR Deluxe - lovely, huge MBR suite w/double jacuzzi tub and separate shower, nice views from MBR & LR, full kitchen w/seating for 6 + 2 at counter, extra long sleeper sectional sofa w/chaise lounges at each end, easily seating 6+ to watch the flat screen tv, a pleasant screened patio/balcony, privacy since the windows face the back and a true, full, well-equipped kitchen. All units in this resort have an inroom washer/dryer. 4 people have plenty of room to sleep in the 1BR deluxe, 6-8 in the 2BR Deluxe.

yes about the one bedrooms units. We were supposed to have the 1 bedroom deluxe and when we checked in it wasn't available yet because it was early. So, the lady said I have one available now, but it doesn't have a stove. So, we said fine. She neglected to tell us the rest of what it didn't have. I wish I knew. There were 4 of us and it was very tight. I really missed having a porch. And, you couldn't leave the windows open because people could walk right by it. Everyone else goes to bed early and I like to sit outside. They even had the pool area all locked up, so I couldn't sit there either.
