Hi! I just changed my ressies from the Sheraton Safari to The Royal Plaza. I was just too leery of the shuttle service at SS (they didn't provide busses for MNSSH). Anyone stay here lately? Can i have your impressions???:flower3:

Thank you

All the rooms, totally remodeled and very nice. Nice bar off the lobby area.

We didn't get a chance to check out pool but it looked nice.

I spent a night there in Jan, it was a very nice hotel. I saw several of the rooms there, (we had over 100 rooms there that night, long story)..all looked nice and newly remodeled, granite countertop bathrooms that sort of thing. Some of the balcony doors overlooking DTD opened, some didn't (we found this kind of odd). We had 4 adult males there golfing, and 1 room for 1 night, which we found way too small for our liking (even for 1 night) when we checked in, so we got a 2nd room. They might be my buddies, but I don't want to be THAT close to them in bed! hehe

It had 2 queen size hotel beds in the room. We never checked out the pool, the bar was nice though! hehe

Next morning we were up early and off to the golf course, so that's all we ever saw of the place.

I'd try and get a room on the DTD (not the highway) side of the hotel if you can.

Oh, the internet there did NOT work. It was expensive...like $15 for 1 day to use it in your room. When we finally broke down and decided to pay for it, one of my friends spent an hour on the phone with their tech support and they still couldn't get it to work, it was a lousy setup. (and I'm a computer network engineer by background!)

Thanks for the info..I'm going in October, so I did get the free night directly through their website.

we stayed at the Royal Plaza for 7 nights returning home last Friday
stayed in a Poolside room which was a good size (2 doubles and a sofa bed for4 of us) and was nice and clean. There was alot of noise from the pool until 1.45 a.m one night (lots of Grads/students staying) but after that it was pretty quiet
The pool is nice (quite deep 9ft in one area) as is the pool bar and you can also buy/rent floats, beach balls etc. The main bar is ok and has fairly frequent entertainment. the cafe is good for drinks, snacks but didn't eat properly there
The bus service was fine in the mornings to all the parks but we tended to get taxis back (did this previously when we stayed at the Port Orleans)
All the staff were pretty good

The big bonus of the place is the location. To be able to walk easily to DTD one way and all the restuarants bars etc around the Crossroads is a great perk for non drivers such as us who also like to avoid buses as much as possible!!

I'm very envious of you - never mind only another 2 years!!

I'm glad someone from these boards can give me a review too. It sounds really nice. I requested a high, west-facing room (towards Disney). Don't know if I'll get it.. but it can't hurt to request it.
You make it sound very nice.. I'm excited about the stay now and not only for the price I got :) Thank you!

We'll be coming from 6 nights at The Peabody hotel (6/13-6/19).. I got that on Hotwire for $83 a night! We're renting a car so we'll be mobile. We have APs at Sea World, and we plan on going to Cocoa beach.. and might give Universal another go (we went 2 years ago and weren't that impressed).
We end with 10 nights at POFQ (6/23-7/3).. we'll have the dining plan so I can't wait!!

Im' excited that I finally finished all the planning (after MANY changes!!).
With 3 weeks accomodations, airfare, car rental, dining plan... we have APs for Disney, I actually came in UNDER budget... umm, by $100, but it's still under budget! I'm proud of myself!
