This resort looks really nice but haven't seen any reviews anywhere. Has anyone been there recently? (I know it's fairly new) Thinking of going November 16th for one week. Not sure on pricing either. Any info would be appreciated.

My family along with my mother and father in law LOVED the Regal Palms on our trip in Jan/Feb of this year! It was fantastic! :lovestruc

We stayed in a 3 bedroom 3 bath townhome and it was perfectly clean, quiet and fabulous! We LOVED the pool, waterslide ( my 5 year old 45" daughter said this was her favorite part) and the lazy river was so much fun! :Pinkbounc Our particular townhome was very close to the pool area.

Some reviewers on tripadvisor.com negatively commented on the staff at the Regal Palms. We had no problems at all with the staff they we very professional and helpful. There was trash pickup each day, we collected the trash and left it outside by the front door each morning and they took it away and left a new trash bag! :goodvibes

We had lunch twice at the clubhouse bar and grill, trying out the turkey wrap, blue cheese hamburger, turkey club, fish and chips, hot dog, and the nachos. All were good, not overly fantastic but good decent food, prices were reasonable, although my husband, while waiting for the food to be prepared so that he could bring it back to the townhome, had pint draft of Bass Ale that cost $10! No kidding! Very funny!

It took us probably 15-20 min depending on traffic to get to Disney...in late Jan/early Feb that is! Another DISer commented on the recent traffic to me! uggg. I will say that it is on the less busy side of Rt192 by a huge margin in my opinion! :rolleyes1

With all that said we also got an amazing deal on our price per night, so I am highly recommending this place to all my friends! Wonderful! A+++ :cloud9:

We got an amazing rate for our 3bedroom and have just reserved a 4bedroom for January 2006 through the same private owner as this past trip at another GREAT rate! How can you beat $100 a night for a 4 bedroom that you are splitting with another couple!! :teacher: PM me if you'd like the website of the owner we are renting through...

thanks for the info "onlyoneforme". Sounds like you loved it there. Have you been to any other condo/villa places near Disney before to compare it to. This will be our first family trip and I'm looking for the best economical way to do it. I think a condo will save us a lot on food plus I like having the space. I do have a couple of questions. Do they have any activities for the kids..(movie night, etc.) I know Sheraton Vistana seems to have a lot for them. What do you need to bring for the condo (toiletries...). Is there only one restaurant on site? I am interested in getting the site name of the owner who you're renting from. I'm interested in a 3 bedroom for this November 26th - December 3rd. Thanks so much

We just got back from Regal Palms a few weeks ago & it was great. We had a 4 bedroom house w/ a pool. Just found the post I wrote when we got back, here it is:

Just got back yesterday from a 7 day/6 night stay @ Regal Plams. Was a little worried with some of the posts I had read, but overall it surpassed our expectations. We have 5 small children (under 7) so, I didn't really have time to check out everything. We stayed in a 4 bdrm 2 bath pool house. For us it was perfect, but keep in mind I've had a kid in diapers since 1997 -not the same kid & I've had very little sleep in the past few years (think newborn, 12 month old, 2 yr old, 5, 6), so I could sleep on a rock in the desert and be happy as long as I was sleeping!!! That being said, the house was spacious and very clean. Check in was a breeze, but they would not let us check in early. We called ahead of time & asked about $25 insurance or a hold on your credit card that I'd read about. They said they don't do that, everything's included in our nightly rate & true to their word we were not charged anything extra. They were very friendly, the girl checking us in was obviously new b/c she kept asking questions but that was fine, she was nice. We asked for a grill & highchair (extra $40 for grill & $15 for highchair/wk) & we no sooner pulled in the driveway & they were already being delivered. The kids loved the common pool, water's heated, zero depth entry for little ones, water slide & lazy river. There's still construction going on, but the pool houses are across the street so it was hard to tell if it affected the people close to it. In a week I never actually saw anyone doing any work! We booked this house through www.hotelkingdom.com & had no problems. We had a great time - I'll be more than happy to answer any questions!

We really did love it!
We have stayed on property many times, as well as another condo development off Lindfields. The Regal Palms is no comparison. We have not stayed at the Sheraton, many people just rave about that place too!

When we were there in Jan/Feb the place was still under slight construction in the resort side (more townhomes) as well as in the complex (health club/activities center) so I am not sure if when all of that is completed if there might be some kid activities? I know they have a small shuttle to area attractions, although we didn't take advantage of it, it was there!

As far as what to bring to the condo, you need a larger bar of soap for the bathrooms as well as shampoo/conditioner etc. They provide a small hotel sized bar in each bath. There were several rolls of toliet paper and I would imagine that in addition to the rubbish removal each day that they would provide more paper. We did need to get dish detergent and salt and pepper shakers.

I will PM you the owner's website, I am not sure I can share it on the board??? For our stay last year we stayed in his 3 bedroom townhome for an "introductory" (he had just purchased these units) rate of $70 a night with tax included! What an introduction! I would imagine that with the completion of the property that his rates have gone up and you are going at a different, busier time of the year...here's to a great rate. I'll pm you!

We stayed ina 4 bedroom condo in april and we really liked it. it was clean and spacious enough for the 9 of us. the kids really loved the pool area. the slide was great and we found the staff very accommodating. the grocery store is 1/2 a mile from the place along with a pizza/chinese food.

if you are looking for a place that offers full service like a marriott then this isn't the place (at least so far). you rarely had someone walking around offering drink/food service (but they were very nice about you bringing your own stuff to the pool area), there were no kid activities when we were there - there is a game room. so if you are looking for a spacious unit, very attractive pricing and great pool area then i would recommend this place.

good luck

We've just booked at Regal Palms through Hotel Kingdom as Cypress Pointe was sold out for the time we wanted. (We've stayed at CP and CPGV in the past.) Regal Palms looks lovely from the photos I've seen, especially the pool area, but like many here, I've read a number of negative comments that have me concerned.

The main one for me is that the thermostats are in locked boxes and cannot be adjusted. Can anyone who has stayed at RP during warm weather confirm this? Someone, either here or on tripadvisor mentioned that it was set for 80 degrees! I'll never get any sleep if it's really hot in the unit.

Otherwise I think I've got the other stuff covered. I'll be bringing soap, toilet tissue, tissues, dish detergent, kitchen sponge, etc. I've stayed at enough time share/condo places to know that sometimes you get that stuff and other times you don't. That's no big deal to me. We'll also bring extra towels. I read that was a problem. I also remember reading that there were no lights at the pool so you couldn't swim after dark. Is this still the case or have they rectified the situation?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

i looked at it but was worried about the bad reviews. plus i wanted to be closer to disney. i got a great deal for a 4 bedroom HOME with a pool and spa at windsor palms. 125 a night going next week. try vrbo.com can't beat it if you are going less than 3 weeks away and see an opening ask the owner if they have any late specials.
