I've stayed at a few in my time, the Hilton being the nicest. What is the quality nowadays?

We stayed at the Hotel Royal Plaza in Jan '08 with mousesavers discount rate for 3 nights before we checked into the WL. The room was very nice and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. We were in a tower room on a high floor. We could see Disney fireworks from our window. We ordered room service the night we arrived and the food was very good. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants. If we wanted to stay at a non Disney hotel again at a reasonable rate, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Hotel Royal Plaza again.

Haven't stayed there, but if it's any consequence we were considering the Hotel Royal Plaza before we decided to try onsite and found that it would be around the same cost as the RP. That was the number one hotel because they have jacquzzi's in the exective tower rooms.

I just went to their website and looked at those suites. They look really nice and is less than what I'd pay for a moderate. And really, I would actually love a suite since DD goes to bed early and we'd rather not sit in the dark whispering while she is snoozing. ;) I wonder if there is room for a pack 'n play in that bedroom.

And thanks Sherry for the review. Anything you didn't like about it?

No there was nothing that we didn't like other than there is not an ice machine on every floor. Our room was big. There would have easily been room for a full size crib. The tub was fantastic. If you decide to try it, be sure to visit mousesavers for the code to enter when you make reservations. We saved quite a bit.

I just checked out the site, this looks great. We need a place near WDW before we check into the Poly. Thanks for the information. This is a little cheaper than others I have seen.

Did you go to negotiated rates? Then in the upper lefthand corner it has a drop-down menu of the date ranges. I was able to pull up May-June 2008. If that doesn't work, exit and try going through the royal plaza website. The mousesavers rates save you about $30-40/room a night!

vettechick99...thank you!!! I tried the negotiate thingy and I still could not get my dates. I went to hotelplaza.com and was trying when it cut out on me and started to download the same page as mousesavers....so I am still trying!! LOL

Thanks!:flower3:

P.S. The dates I am looking for are July 18-Aug 1

Sounds like the website and your computer don't like each other. Do you have flash? I needed that to properly access the page. :confused3

Anyway, I put in your dates and saw plenty of availability. For that time frame, a traditional room is $1470, deluxe tower $1680, premier tower $1778 and exec. suite $2100. I know they also have deals where if you stay so many days you get one free. If you still don't have any luck, try calling them. GL!

Thanks so much vettechick!!! I will try again, those sound like good prices to me. I was thinking the same thing about my comp and the website....:rotfl2:

Another option would be Cypress Pointe thru hotelkingdom.com. They are about two long blocks away from DTD (Left at the Crossroads) and are amazing with surround sound and a washer and dryer (great with a little one).
